I am still new to MixPad, as well as to the whole business of music editing, so I am sorry if my question here comes out as silly or even, perhaps, annoying. On one hand, we can change the volume of the whole track on the panel to the left from it as shown here: https://i.stack.imgur.com/im8fB.jpg On the other hand, we can also change the volume of a clip on a track by choosing the corresponding effect (Fx -> Add Effect -> Volume -> Amplify) as shown here: https://i.stack.imgur.com/Pcz0j.jpg As I have recently learned on this thread, if you apply an effect to one clip on the track, this effect will be applied to the whole track. If so, then I don't see the difference between changing the volume via the left panel and changing it via volume effect. What's the difference between these two? Is it like the volume-effect way is finer?

New guy creating a film with 3 camera angles each on their own track. Editing in the timeline for now, watching each reel and splitting and cutting. As long as no clips overlap the angles preview properly all but transitions. As 6 or 7 clips are edited I have tried moving them to a new track on top, to be the semi finished version, or have moved them to one of the existing tracks, generally the top layer. Then I can set transitions and other editing fine details which show in the sequence preview window as the finished film might. I am wondering is this is common and would love to hear how others work their multi camera angle film editing.

I've had the same problem with my video projects not being recognized and recoverable from a folder I have for my VP (.vpj) files. I am unable to pull in the project and continue the job from the .vpj files. It simply doesn't find them. Lost work! I read all of the other complaints and replies for fixing but I will I need to carefully save the work in some other way? . As I edit and develop my project I always SAVE PROJECT. I assume this saves EVERYTHING that I have done thus far. I'm thinking of saving the project as .MP4 and work with that format. Frustrating problem. I hope this problem can be resolved. Many of us like your products.

I've been using Videopad for awhile now - mostly just to edit client demo's or trim video for the internet. So those things are easy for me. Now I have a more difficult task. I have some video files that were transferred from VHS tapes many years ago. They're from when we were on location making movies in other parts of the world. There's some stuff that's fun to revisit but the quality is often less than great. The sound can be inconsistent (loud from the person who was shooting the video - and quieter from who was being filmed). So first question - 1. Is there a way to normalize the sound throughout? And if there's ambient noise in the background can that be fixed at all? There are some portions where the video has part of the picture distorted. The way old VHS tape would sometimes go bad if you can remember that. So second question - 2. Is there a way to trim off the bottom of the video? I have these files as VTS so once I import them into Videopad and finalize my edits my next questions are - 3. What is the best way to save as Mp4? What resolution? Can my choices here make the old video look worse? Maybe I'm hoping for something that just can't be fixed but if anyone has any experience with this or suggestions to try I am very open to hearing from you! Thanks!

Hi I tried to open a project of mine that I was working on for a few weeks yesterday, when it came up with this message: It is saved on an external hard drive so I used another PC to try and open the project, but the same message came up. I tried to open previous projects and they opened up perfectly fine. I didn't notice anything strange when I saved my project last. Is there any way I can fix this problem and retrieve back the project I was working on? Thanks

Is there any easy way in videopad to remove/delete a small 10 or less number of frames? I find it very hard to select the exact frames I want in timeline mode.

Hi! Would be happy to have aswise. I was adding audiofiles to the video a edited. But with the last audio the program just cuted the last two seconds of it. I thought that maybe it's too long so I split it in half. But it cuted the first one. Any ideas how to fix that? Thanks for attention.

Hello everyone, So I am currently using VideoPad Video Editor to edit a music video for a client and so far it has been very good.But when sending out an exported rough cut of the video to a group of editors, an editor noted that after one of the transitions, there is a quick flash. I realized it was the fade transition going from nothing to the image, but once the transition ends, it cuts right to the video clip. I realized what was going on. It creates a weird "flash" effect because the clip during the transition is dark, but once the transition is over, it cuts to the original video clip which is light. I tried my hardest to try and fix it but I think it is just the software and there is nothing to be done about it. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, is there a way to fix it or is that just how the transition is and there is nothing to be done? All input is appreciated. Thank you, LaTasia G.

I have two video files of single event - an A roll and a B roll. I would like to synchronize them and then toggle back and forth between for the product. I put one on Video Track 1 (with full audio) and the other on Video Track 2 (with muted audio). I can slide one of them on the timeline to synchronize them. I'm not sure what to do next. Please advise.

Hi there I have created several small videos which i wish to combine into one as a promo video for my business when adding files my folder is empty but i have saved and exported the previous videos a lot of my footage is portrait so i wish to place a picture behind it on my first layer ( learning about taking videos the hard way!) so i can't use the exported videos I can import clips from another project and add them where i need them to be, but it's like i have to re-edit the video i have already made with music tried drag and drop but this just opens up the project i wish to add there must be an easier way of putting my already made videos together without re-editing

I recorded a video clip in Debut and loaded it into VideoPad to edit the sound quality to remove background his. After editing the sound and saving the file as an MP4 file, when played back the video is now out of focus and I have no idea why. I have tried a number of ways around this, but cannot find a viable solution.

Hello I am having a totally frustrating issue with VideoPad that I think I may have accidentally induced and now cannot for the life of me revert So, I completed a long, laborious video I was making, and when I went back to edit/move some clips, all the other clips that were on the same track as it moved (to the left) on the track as if to make up the difference with the "new space" available This has basically moved all of my clips from there correct place, to being to early in the video, and has totally thrown everything off sync! I have seen some people saying hold down shift to "remedy" this problem, and at times, it has appeared to (somewhat) work. However, I swear editing my other videos did not have this problem, so I am wondering, did I accidentally do something that made this video act like this? I would really appreciate any help in regards to this, as this has totally disrupted my workflow and made me absolutely furious with the software!

So I'm making a slide show with gifs. (short couple second video clips) I duplicated most of the gif slides as many were real short less than a second. In order for it to look like a longer slide I went to remove the transition. It worked fine on the first couple except after clicking on the remove tab; the other tabs (Apply - Apply to all) went dark and could not be activated. I left the transition at the end of the slide moving on to the next set. About the 4th or 5th set when I clicked the next transition of the next slide to be edited all the previous transitions reverted back to their original setting. Not being able to activate the Apply buttons I tried saving the project after each transition edit. Didn't work. So I'm kind of stuck on the project; anyone have any suggestions. Thanks

I have recently acquired a Mac and I'm looking for an app that is like IrfanView on my PC before I can happily use it as my main computer. I mostly work with scanned old documents for genealogy and I want to be able to remove horizontal and vertical strips from the document. e.g. when a double page spread of a book is scanned I want to be able to easily remove the centre inch or so where the binding is. Or for documents with a heading I want to keep the heading and remove all but the row(s) of interest to me. Cropping is great for removing the bottom rows that I'm not interested in, but I also want to eliminate the rows between my row of interest and the heading row. In IrfanView this is an option on the edit menu which I use many times daily. Can I do this with this with Photopad for the Mac - or any other software - or would I need to "cut and shut", saving the bits and rejoining them which is too complicated and slow.

Is it possible to drop bookmarks or edit points 'on the fly' without stopping the recording process. I need to set edit points while recording spoken word and stopping would be unacceptable. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi there: Hope somebody can help with what I thought would be an easy task. Sorry in advance if I am overlooking something obvious; as the method I am trying worked with other Video Editing Software. I have a paid version of Video Pad Professional. Let us say I have a 5 minute music video and I want to copy or cut a piece of it to a new file. I split the file (for example between the 2 minute and 4 minute mark). I then right click over the split section and choose copy. I then go to New File and attempt to past but the option is greyed out and will not let me put it on the storyboard either with a right click or Control V. Thank you for your help, CF

Hi, I have been using MIXPAD for about 5 months to edit my podcast. As I was editing and putting the final touches on the last one all audio was lost. From the recorded audio to the music that was being added to it, all of it was missing. Then the program froze and then it blinked and I lost all of the recorded material. I was wondering if there was a way I could recover the file if it wasn't saved before the program blanked.

I have a problem with the preview. If I just cut a video (cuts only), there are no problems. But if I add videos one after another, say vidpad, the preview is build and i can not see the transition. This would only be a minor problem if there were not even worse problems. If I have a complex project, with many cuts, some audio and 1-2 video effects, over 10 pictures, 4 audio and video tracks, I can almost no longer use Videopad. If you add something new, this is very difficult.This is sometimes (especially in the newer Versions) so even though the green bar is almost everywhere. This happens even with very large z.b. Video gamplays with over 30 GB (here I can understand it somewhat). This is extreme again in the last versions. I have tested some (20) older versions from my archive ^^ and the best stable version up to version 3.89 is version 5.04. I only edit my videos on HD (1280x720). Funny is also that the situation does not change, although VidoPad since version 6.x twice as much CPU approves, as in the lower versions. I have an AMD Ryzen 5 2400G (4 cores / 8 threads) with 3.8 GHZ. I also have an SSD for the cache (10GB). I do not know if it's lies on Videopad, but since the last 3-4 versions videopad freezet or crashed from time to time.

Is anyone aware of a way to edit a transaction after the payment window has been completed? I've had a couple of instances where I'd like to change the payment method or add additional items after it appears it's too late.

I have been using VideoPad for about 2 years now, and with the new release of IGTV, I wanted to make some portrait videos. VideoPad does not seem to be able to export portrait and will instead export it as a 16:9 video, how do I change this? Is there a way to make the preview window(s) portrait view also? TIA!

Instagram IGTV is now realeased and out and I figure it would be a great time for NCH VideoPad to publish some "How-tos" and/or YouTube Videos explaining the best way to "convert" YouTubes to IGTV "Vertical" format. I've been struggling all day and I manged to finally convert one of my YouTubes and post it to my Instagram account IGTV channel. It works but I know I need more help. Since I'm a VideoPad Noobie I'd really appreciate some help with this. Could someone please respond with a checklist of the "best way" and "best practices" how to do this properly Thanks! TG

Hi, I know that if one holds shift, you can click multiple clips one by one and then move them together. However while editing lots of parts of a video that have multiple clips working together (many short images, text and audio etc...) this ends up taking an incredible amount of time. Say I want to move 3 bars to the right, those 3 bars might have 20 little clips in different layers, so I would have to shift click them all, move them, and what if I want to move them again, back one space - you have to painstakingly clicking each one again??? It seems like someone else MUST have noticed this was a problem. Click-dragging over multiple clips one would think would be the obvious solution to highlight desired clips to move as a group, but click-dragging over items in the timeline seems to do nothing. Ctrl-A and holding alt while moving clips doesn't work, because that is of course moving all of the clips in the entire movie. Please please help.

I have just recently encountered a problem editing two separate files (both of which were created by myself on VideoPad). However, when I try to edit them together with a jpeg still and text over the top of the edit, after I save and export, the finished video omits the jpeg still and text and it is just the end of the first and beginning of the the next video files I am trying to link together. Any ideas? I've been doing it this way for about a year now...but just now have encountered this problem.
