  1. BURN won't be available unless a burnable DVD is sensed by the drive. Be sure that the disc type is a DVD (not CD) that's compatible with the optical drive. Will Videopad create an Image File, which you can select from the first screen? Install the latest version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  2. What "some edits" specifically are you attempting? Install the current 64-bit release. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Take a few minutes to share the project and someone will analyze the issue. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  3. Workaround has succeeded on several attempts here, but it shouldn't be needed and will be fixed. This forum is primarily peer support - users just like yourself sharing tips. Glad you're pleased with the product.
  4. You say that some files do play. Please share one or two that do not. Assume that you are using the latest version?
  5. Place a blank clip at the end of the sequence. Drag it to the desired timeline length. Grab its right handle and reduce the clip length to the minimum. Export. The project will run to the end of the blank clip. There are numerous macro utils available, but they don't run inside Videopad. The one tested successfully on the first sequence multi-export suggestion is here. An example of what appears to be what you are doing... Save a project with a ten-second file and close VP. Replace that file on your PC with a twenty-second file by the same name. Launch the VP project that was saved. The longer, new file that was substituted is truncated to ten seconds. This is correct behavior. The project was saved when the file was ten-seconds long. The VPJ doesn't know that you have replaced the same-name file with another that is longer. Instead, load the VPJ that was saved with the short file. Right-click that file in the bin and REPLACE FILE. Locate the new, longer file with the same or other name. Now the timeline will reflect the longer file. SAVE PROJECT again to update the change.
  6. Share one or two of those files and someone will take a look. When you say "disabled" - do they import into the bin? Do they play in the bin but just not on the timeline?
  7. A workaround... Type your credits. When done, add a blank credit. Delete the words "title" and "name." There should be no text in either field. Then use the spacebar to advance the cursor to the middle of each of those fields. Now all credits should display in full. The extra space at the end can be chopped off after being placed on the timeline.
  8. Agreed that they are cropping. Reported.
  9. Are these animated .gif files? Some may not animate in VP. Look here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAiJGgIZDms Click these links, click DOWNLOAD and place these files on the timeline, one after another. (The boy is mostly a video still frame.) https://1drv.ms/v/s!AmKCN6jvYsvCvz9J5eIEzon1fuWO?e=TwZhxk https://1drv.ms/v/s!AmKCN6jvYsvCv0C0Qsipsjny0Mvd?e=yD8bl8 If the files play then it seems that the editor is working.
  10. Ooops. Try the link above now. And if possible, upload a link to a screen grab video of what you see... Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."
  11. You are in Timeline, not Storyboard mode? If this persists, go for a clean install. Use this free tool to uninstall VP. After the normal uninstaller runs, the program will prompt for additional actions. Select ALL registry entries and delete them. Then install Videopad 11.20.
  12. Now it's understood what you mean by "wavy-x." It's not an effect, but the icon within the clip. Due to space considerations, the X may not show on each clip UNTIL the timeline is expanded. Drag the slider that's at the bottom-right of the VP window to the right.
  13. Seems that a macro could be used to achieve your goal. Forgive my ignorance, but it's still unclear why a dummy file is required. By "store", assume you mean ADD to the bin, which will not change file duration. File names should be irrelevant. If a longer file of the same name is added to a bin that already has a file of that name the new one will have a (1). The duration of the files will not change. It's the same if the file is dropped onto the timeline, without trimming, or duplicated it in another sequence. Saving the project does not change file durations. Remember, clicking SAVE overwrites the prior VPJ. Click the chevron at the right of the button and SAVE PROJECT AS, giving it a unique # or name. Exporting will output the entirety of a sequence unless it's been intentionally truncated. If there's a sync issue, audio can be added to another track, then bumped slightly. Then the original track can be muted. The original audio can even be saved as a new WAV file, then added as the to-be-synched second audio track. Right-click the audio clip and Save Audio Clip as New File. As for shortcut keys, file a suggestion... https://www.nch.com.au/suggestions/index.html?software=VideoPad
  14. Using 11.20 32-bit, and starting each with a clean cache, the trials fully loaded to the sequence in these times. Export was at default values... 1 - :45 268MB 3 minutes 2 seconds 2 - 4:57 2.66GB 13 minutes 11 seconds Hardware can make a difference, of course. This is an I7(8700) with a GTX1060 video card. 3 - :34 597MB 2 minutes 53 seconds The green line above the sequence thumbs should be complete but there is no need to wait for the purple ribbon under the preview window to complete, if ever. To eliminate gaps between cuts on trial 2, go to Storyboard mode, where they will be clearly visible. Right-click in a gap and CLOSE GAP. Lip sync was seen only in the long trial and was dead-on in preview, but may be very slightly off on export. That's being looked at.
  15. Don't follow a need for 'dummy' files. Apparently that's related to your automation procedure. In VP all that's needed is to import the full file and follow one of the above methods above to split and export. A six-hour file, however, would be pushing things. There apparently isn't a shortcut key for Export All Sequences though <ctrl-B> works for a single sequence. Request it by clicking the ? at the top-right of the VP window and making a suggestion.
  16. What is the exact name of this transition and in what VP version? When you say "on each use" do you mean that you want to use the same transition between multiple clips? Make the choice in the drop-down menu...
  17. Same here.. In the 'burner' field choose Disc Image and share it here or via a Private Message (click the envelope at the top-right of this forum). We'll test your project. Here's how... Upload the image file to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."
  18. You can try Express Burn for free. It will also burn IMAGE files that are created with VP. When you burned did you choose any Menu features? Describe which ones and the exact procedure used. Did the DVD player display any menus from the disc that did not respond when selected? Just tested again here using a custom menu and it succeeded without issue. When testing, a DVD/RW rewritable disc is a wise choice, to avoid making coasters.
  19. Exactly the same here, and it worked well on a Samsung Blu-Ray player. Test on another player if possible. You might also try Express Burn, after creating a video file in Videopad.
  20. Increased usage of GPU for both 32- and 64-bit releases appeared in the mid-10.x series by my recollection (don't quote me) and was further improved in later releases. Bottom line seems to be that hardware and projects dictate how GPU is utilized. Some exports here have finished quickly, even with little GPU activity. Submit a project that you have timed and someone will check it.
  21. Choose Export Selected Region. Then the usual export box will appear as shown in the above video. At the bottom of that box... The program will create sequence 1. After selecting part two in the manner shown, it will create sequence 2.
  22. Odd. All files or just a certain type? We need to see a mostly-completed project, where files cannot be added. Someone will analyze it and come up with the answer. 23. Transitions apply only to adjacent clips on the same track. If there is sufficient excess video to cover the transition on both the FROM and TO clips at the cut point then there will be no prompt, and there should be no freeze. 'Excess' is the video that's not being used on the sequence. To fade from track 1 to track 2, overlap the tracks and apply the f fade to the upper track. Use the latest version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Not seeing an issue here with fade through white. Untitled.mp4
  24. Edd, what NCH library cuts got the strike/s? A test here had no issues.
  25. What version is that - look in the left-bottom corner of the VP window? To make a DVD that plays on a standalone device click the chevron on the right of the button and choose MOVIE... Is that what you did?
