  1. What version would that be? Look under the 3-lined MENU (top-left of the window). Click FILE | ABOUT. What's the release #, and does it list "64-bit?" When you say "it won't play any audio" ... is that on the timeline (is the waveform visible) or after export? Are there any warnings or error messages? Did it play or export correctly in an earlier version? To track this down, please share your project. It's easy, takes only minutes and can be private. Just follow these four steps carefully... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  2. There's no "medium" in the export choices shown above, only auto detect, lossless and off (re-encode).. Lossless passes the content without re-encoding all or part, so it's highest quality. Here's the comparison on your mp4, with re-encoding at the left. If the 'about' window doesn't list "64-bit" then it's the 32-bit release. The link above has the latest 64.
  3. At export click the Default Quality/Filesize link. If it is set to Auto Detect it should pick up Lossless automatically, if it meets specs as it did here on your project. Similarly, when exporting, choosing the Lossless Video button will succeed only if the project meets the requirements. Re-encoding the export (not Lossless) took 13:54. GPU usage was over 95%. Hardware capabilities can make a difference. To see if yours is the 64-bit version click the 3-lined Menu (top-left of the window), then HELP | ABOUT. The latest release.
  4. 64-bit capabilities, better GPU usage (faster editing/rendering), improved multi-cam implementation, added effects, and more. The UI is about the same. Check it out for yourself. Just over-install, no need to uninstall. This is a trial, so some features will be disabled in time. Your current version can be reinstalled.
  5. A LINK to an image can be posted. Upload to a free server, like Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a public (shared) link and post that link here. If using Google be sure to change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."
  6. Open a blank project. ADD a simple text file and name it for a breed: "Schnauzer" It appears in the bin (top-left). Right-click it and choose COPY. Right-click in an open area of the bin and choose PASTE (Clip) as many times as there will be dog names. Select each copy in turn, click the Text box, swipe the existing name and change it to another breed. Select the HOME tab, then click the Save Project button, give it a name and click Save. When a new project is complete, click the 3-lined Menu button (top-left) FILE | Import Clips From Another Project. (A new, blank sequence will be created. Just delete it by clicking the X on its Sequence tab above the timeline.) The dog name clips will be under the Images tab in the bin, to be dropped into the timeline, positioned and sized at will. 7. is the chromakey effect. https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/en/kb/1408.html The foreground subject (the track 2 girl) must be high contrast to its background, and not contain the color (usually green) that is to be replaced.
  8. That's too bad, but isn't common. You reference advice to use "less clips and transitions and less tracks." That likely was a general suggestion from a fellow user, and applied mainly to large, complex projects edited with earlier releases. If you provide info and work with the folks here, someone in this user forum will help overcome the issues. First thing: install this 64-bit release. Test an export after going to OPTIONS | ADVANCED tab. In the GPU drop-down change default to None (CPU Only). Export again. If you take a few minutes to share the project, it will be analyzed. This is the best way to sleuth the problem. It's easy and can be private. Follow these steps... If instead you prefer to give up... https://www.nch.com.au/general/refund.html
  9. There are several approaches to laying out a project; experiment to discover what best fits your needs. Should issues arise, drop by again with specifics.
  10. Narration from an original source won't be overwritten - unless its audio track is altered or deleted. Nothing will be lost by adding your narration per clip, if each cut fits within a clip. If narration is to span clips it would be best to add it later.
  11. Normally, transitions apply only to adjacent clips on the same track, and higher tracks always take precedence. But fades can cross tracks. Like this, where boy fades to dog and back again... That said, transitions between tracks can be programmed in Multicam mode. Right-click the preview window, choose Preview Mode | Multicam. Or there may be a Multicam button to launch the feature... Experiment. Changing a clip or adjacent clip's length may remove a transition, so it can be best to add transitions between fully edited adjacent clips. Effects 'stick' - normally they won't change. Multiple sequences can be embedded into a single track. At the top-left of the bin click the Sequences tab. Drag the desired sequence to the target track, or right-click and choose one of the placement options. These embeds are composites - not individual clips - and should be edited prior to main track insertion. Building in levels, with individual exports to be later assembled, is one approach. Building sequences for insertion into the main track is an alternative. Consider adding narration last, to the main sequence. Narration tracks can be positioned at will. You are limited to available effects, but your adjusted settings for each can be saved as a template. Click the blue icon and name it. That customized effect appears at the bottom of the effects window, to be applied to other clips. Bin clips can be sized prior to timeline insertion. A master bin clip can be duplicated numerous times. Right-click | COPY. Then in an open area of the bin right-click | PASTE CLIP. Edit each copy for unique IN/OUT points. That won't affect the other copies or the master. When done, select the desired clip and drop it into the timeline - perhaps at the cursor, using the right-click placement option. In general... Use the 64-bit release. Prior to the start of a new project, go to OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. (This can also be done while editing.) Don't import clips to the bin that won't be used in the project. For protection, Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the caret to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. Saves will restore the project via a double-click on their VPJ file.
  12. Thanks for sharing. The project took less than fifteen-minutes to fully cache (for seamless playback) and used about 57% of GPU resources. LOSSLESS export was 3:30. Be sure you're using the current 64-bit release.
  13. Be sure that you indeed have the latest, from the link above. Try this... Go to OPTIONS | ADVANCED tab and in the drop-down menu for the GPU processor change default to None (CPU only). Any improvement? You can also revert to an earlier release. Ignore any virus warnings.
  14. Odd. No other reports of this. What are your PC's specs: CPU/GPU/RAM? Install the current 64-bit release. If the issue continues, please share the project so others can run it. It's easy, takes only minutes and can be private. Follow these steps... 15. As of this writing v13.16 is being offered. Other than being listed as a maintenance release there are no specifics on what has changed. The best bet is to install the latest, and check it out. Dependent upon your PC, 13.16 may load files and export projects more quickly than the 12.x series. It takes only seconds to over-install. No need to uninstall. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. There's never a mandate to switch, and your version won't expire.
  16. Rendering and export speeds can be affected by whether Videopad can take advantage of GPU capabilities. Quality should be comparable.
  17. As described above. Higher tracks take precedence over lower. So, for track 1 to be seen, the track two image must be smaller. Use the Picture-In-Picture effect, or the Motion effect to size and position track 2 content. The close-up video can be dragged left or right to sync it with track 1. If you make a mistake, press <ctrl-Z> (EDIT|UNDO) to go back, step-by-step. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the caret to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar.
  18. You do not mention what the GPU is in your current system. But that indeed could make a difference. If there are choices other than default and None in the GPU drop-down, try those as well. Hope the new box improves things. Use the 64-bit version of Videopad, and check in with your results. Take a minute to upload the project and we'll take a look. It's not difficult and can be private. Just follow these steps closely... Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  19. Share the project, as above, with the 'bad' clip intact. Someone will analyze what's going on. Or, just upload the clip itself to a free server, get a public (shared) link and post that link here or in private to me as a Personal Message (envelope at the top-right of this forum).
  20. FINALIZE o processo no Windows Taskmanager <ctrl-alt-esc>. Em seguida, tente instalar novamente.
  21. Apply the Pan & Zoom (or Ken Burns) effect. Select aspect ratio 4x3. Define the Start and End positions. Export at 640x480 resolution.
  22. Looking more closely, yes - some clipping. See above. It's the same for reloads. Report it, referencing this thread.
  23. Version 12.14. First load (cache empty)... 2nd load... 3rd load (after clearing project but not cache)... 13.09....
