I think the issue might be though that I'm recording in fragmented MP4 with OBS. Recording a small clip with fragmented MP4 failed to import but a similar clip in MKV worked as normal. I've also found a workaround for already recorded videos, by importing the original file that failed into Davinci Resolve and exporting it as an MP4, then I can import it into VideoPad as normal, but Resolve exports really slowly for me so it's not a great fix, and MKV I believe takes up more file space, but I think fragmented MP4 may be the issue.

I installed that version and am having the same problem. There's no error or alert or any type of pop-up. It says "Indexing video" for a few seconds and the pop-up importing the video disappears. If I drag the file from file explorer into the videos bin it will appear as a flat 0 second audio file which does nothing when placed in the timeline. Can get that same result by clicking "Open" instead of add videos and opening the video.

For a long time I've been using v10.78 and recently started experiencing really bad lag while editing videos. At the same time I also started getting a pop-up to update to v16.08 which didn't work, but I did have an installation for v13.67 which worked, but I couldn't import most videos. Earlier today I updated to v16.08 with an installation I found on this forum on someone else with the same problem, but the solution wasn't in the comments and seemed to be discussed in DMs. I have tried updating versions as much as I could, reinstalling versions, and updating Windows. Older files do work, but I'm not sure what could've changed for files to stop importing. Reverting to v10.78 though, the files will import properly, but I would like to update versions so I don't get the pop-up anymore and to hopefully fix the lag and increase performance and have anything else versions part 10.78 added.
