  1. Hints at an AMD compatibility issue. Have you tested on another PC, if available? Let's see the project or file, so it can be analyzed. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server. Similarly, links to images or video can be posted here. Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."
  2. A few thoughts... What are your PC's specs: CPU/GPU/RAM? Confirm that the PC video driver and Direct-X are current... https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/kb/1772.html Under OPTIONS | ADVANCED, in the GPU Processor section, click the caret and choose None (CPU Only). Report your results, please.
  3. Move the subtitle cursor to the desired spot. Type the text. Click APPLY. Sub_position.mp4 Click APPLY TO SELECTED SUBTITLES prior to making changes. Both functions seem to be working in v13.50 here. Sub_Apply Only.mp4

  5. Very odd. What version is being used? When creating keyframes, be sure to click on the blue line, which you appear to be doing. Install this release. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  6. Left-click to create a keyframe, whose square can then be dragged up/down for volume or right/left for fade duration. Untitled.mp4 Alternatively, position the cursor where the fade should begin, then right-click in the audio track of the clip. Choose FADE IN or OUT and an action from the menu... An example of FADE OUT, with a similar result as above...
  7. This is a user forum, of course, but we'll pass along your info. Have you tested VP on another PC? What paid version crashes? Look at the bottom-left of the VP window. Check this out and confirm that the video driver and Direct-X are current. To eliminate the possibility that components are corrupted, close the program. Use this free utility to delete all Videopad items. Then let it scan the registry, select ALL and DELETE all entries. When complete, reinstall Videopad. There is no mandate to upgrade if all is well. But upgrades are free for a six-month period after licensing. Any release within that period will be licensed. Check them out here. Ignore any virus warnings. For a test, install the latest release and see if it crashes. It can be used for a trial period even if not registered. You can revert .
  8. Now try this, and see if export succeeds. Or, using 13.45, export via the LOSSLESS button on the Home toolbar if available.
  9. Spotted it. A bug that's been reported. Suggest using this release for now. Ignore any virus warnings.
  10. Tried for five minutes to replicate that behavior, but the cursor stayed put. Install this release and see if it still does it. Report back.
  11. To leave a gap just drag one of the clips along the timeline. If it snaps back, try holding down <alt> or <shift> while dragging. To insert another clip from the bin, first use the keys to move the cursor to a split point. Then right-click on the clip to be inserted and Place On Sequence at Cursor... Or do the same by using the ADD button... Export will always contain a video track. But the sequence audio can be saved by clicking the Sequences tab above the bin. Then right-click on sequence 1 and Save Sequence Audio as New File... If will be saved in the MUSIC folder on the PC by default. To remove a split, right-click on the split bar... The drop-down menu may have an UN-SPLIT Clips choice. If not, that option isn't available. Click the ? in the upper-right corner for the HELP files.
  12. For editing audio only try Wavepad. To insert audio silence between clips in Videopad, just leave a gap. All tracks will be mixed, unless they are muted. When exporting there will be a video track, even if it's blank.
  13. You have tacked on to a ten-year old thread. Version 2.x is very dated and much of the info here, and linked, is no longer valid. Videopad can apply transitions to all selected clips at once and can easily create slideshows.
  14. That's probably subjective, and may depend upon the how the export is viewed. If you see no difference, try a lower quality setting, which should result in a smaller file size. Resolution, too, affects size. IMO, folks tend to be oversold on very high res video, when lower would look nice on the device being used to display it.

    Moving shots

Please explain more fully where these shots came from, and where they are now. Are they in the bin (top-left)? How do you plan to use them?
  16. Did you follow the instruction above, to open the Sequences tab to Sequence 1, click on it so it shows in preview, then move the red and blue lines? If that doesn't help, share the project as outlined above and someone will come up with a fix.
  17. You can use the latest for a trial period before certain elements are disabled. To license, here's the upgrade link. An even newer release will soon be available. There's also a free version, with limited features. If exports are blocked, try switching from mp4 to AVI format.
  18. What version is being used? Test the latest beta. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. This can depend upon how the file was created. Share it, and someone will check it out. Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view." To convert a single-channel file (likely the left channel) to center-channel mono, use Wavepad. At the bottom of the window click the caret next to this ... Then choose MONO. Save the file and substitute it for the original in Videopad.
  19. Combined a 639 bitrate WMV with a 1631 AVI here at the default export quality setting. The result: 514Kbps. Try various quality settings or even a different compressor, such as MPEG4.
  20. Don't recall seeing that message at export. But try this... Click the Sequences tab at the top-left of the bin, then click on the sequence (likely Sequence 1) to view it in the preview window. If there's a red bracket under the thumbnails, drag it to the far left. If there's blue bracket, drag it to the far right. Then try exporting. Still no joy? Please share the project and someone will take a look. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. 21. On the Home toolbar, try an export via the LOSSLESS VIDEO button. If it accepts it, you should be good. If not, install this beta release and try Lossless..
