  1. What version is being used?  Look at the left-bottom corner of the VP window.

Try this one.  For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date.  After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest.  Retain your old install file and registration info.

    Report results here please.

  2. Good to hear.  For analysis with the latest release, please take a minute to share your project - either here or in private.  Just follow these steps...

    •     Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left.  Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER.  Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER.
    •     Upload ---  Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER.    Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file.
    •     Get link --- Get a public link.  If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view"
    •     Share ---     Click COPY LINK | DONE.  Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me.  It won't be shared.

              *    Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES.  Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.

  3. Tested a 360 mp4 file in Videopad 13.59.

A section was excised.  Then the project was exported as an mp4 via the HOME toolbar 360 button.  (Other formats may also succeed.)

To view in VP, right-click in the preview window... image.png

The exported clip looked fine in the GoPro player.

Share a sample file or two, just as you did the jpg files above, and someone (perhaps with more extensive knowledge) will check it out.

  4. If the clips are grouped they should move in cadence even if they deselect after the first move.  That's the behavior here.

Individual clips can be deselected via the right-click menu.

Yes, a range of clips - audio or video - are selected by clicking the first clip to be moved, holding down <shift>, and clicking the last.

    Any suggestions?

    Not really.

If the PC's BIOS will let you switch to on-board video, in lieu of the GTS card, try that.  Or an alternate choice may be available in VP OPTIONS | ADVANCED | GPU.

You might use a Windows restore point to resort to a time when it worked, but that's a pain with no guarantee of success.

The issue is being looked into by others.  Any findings will be posted here.

  6. Odd.  This PC has similar specs and a half-dozen MTS files load normally.

    Install the 64-bit 13.57 release.

Copy the file to another folder.  Will it load from there?

Any change when you select None (CPU only) under OPTIONS | ADVANCED and then restart Videopad?  image.png

Try a thorough UNinstall, using this free tool.  When it prompts to scan registry files, select all and delete them.  Reinstall and register VP.

Do you have another machine to test?

If these measures fail it may be necessary to revert to 13.48.or try 13.50, which is very recent.  Ignore any virus warning.

Please check back with your result.  This will be reported.

  7. Loads normally here, in both the 32- and 64-bit 13.57 versions...  image.png  What are the PC's specs:  CPU/GPU/RAM?

To eliminate possible VP file corruption, close the program.  Use Windows Explorer (the file manager) to delete all files in these two folders.

    Reboot.  Then reinstall Videopad.

    "C:\Users\<PC name>\AppData\Roaming\NCH Software\Components"

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\Components"

  8.                                                                  Tested in both 13.28 and 13.57, the export is identical to the source...

Check this out for video updates.

  9. Shouldn't happen, of course.  Doesn't here.  Crashing can have several causes.  Look at this.

You haven't shared the PC's specs - CPU/GPU/RAM - but they can certainly impact performance.  Video editing is resource intensive.

Test the current VP 64-bit version.

Prior to starting a new project, go to OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files.

Share a project that tends to crash.  The process is easy, quick and can be done privately.

  10. No fraud.  You should never have to repurchase.  Go here if there's a problem.  VP is offered via outright purchase or subscription.  Many other NLEs are subscription only.

Purchased releases don't expire.  Updates - often subtle UI and feature changes and minor fixes - are free during for the six-month period.  Try them out.  But there's no mandate to update if your version is doing the job.  The latest release can always be test driven for a full-featured trial period, before some features are disabled.

In no way should your purchased version "go to pot."  But the program, and your PC, do change over the years - sometimes for good - sometimes not.😉

  11. What VP version?  Look at the bottom-left corner of the window.

There are numerous settings that can affect this.  To track it down let's take a look at a clip or two..

Upload the file to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum.  When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."

  12. Check in from time to time on pricing - offers come and go.

When the unlicensed trial expires, certain features may be disabled - likely similar to the free version - but the # won't change.

Just overinstall your registered copy, or any release within the grace period, and your license should be valid.

  13. Similar to your "interesting thing" comment, but with a DVD Movie file (not a video file), create the captions, export them as an SRT file, then choose No Show and burn the disc.

Open the DVD's VOB file in the free MPC-BE, right-click on the screen and choose SUBTITLES.  Click the Load Ext Subtitles menu and import the SRT.

Now the captions can be toggled on or off while playing the DVD...   image.png

File a suggestion that switchable CC be made possible in DVD Movie file production.

  14. Any release within the six-month purchase grace period will be licensed.  Get them here.  Ignore any virus warnings.

There's no mandate to upgrade and uninstalling isn't necessary;  just overinstall.

Maintenance releases may have internal improvements or slight differences in the UI and features.  You can always check out the latest, even if not licensed.  It should be full-featured for a trial period.  Download from the Wavepad home page.  Retain your registration.
