  1. Learning curve.😀 Be sure to save those back ups.
  2. Various causes have been attributed to that error. Install this 64-bit version, if not already on board. THE best way to solve your issue is to share the project. Someone will take a look and come up with an answer. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  3. If you want to apply a CROP to a masked area, try something like this... As to the red boxes, to simplify... Took a snapshot of a red blank clip. Load the snap, place it on track 1 and Scale it to .25. Load the same, place it on track 2, scale it to .25 and animate a Motion effect. This may be about as clean as it's going to get with this saturated color, which likely isn't a common usage. Still, your edge observations will be passed along. You can also file a bug/suggestion. Be specific... https://www.nch.com.au/software/bug.html Test.mp4
  4. Did you burn a DVD Movie or a Video File? Assuming Movie, since many TVs don't recognize video files, did you check TV settings for picture size options? My set has several. Share the project (not the export) and we'll take a look. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... 5. After further testing, the offset can be seen in preview, but not in export. See the attached mp4 exported from v10.88. The first half is pure white PNG lettering over a pure white background. Thus, no lettering is displayed. Then your slightly gray Example Text.png appears over the same background. There's no edging or black border. In your linked example very slight edging is evident on the motion/scaled word TEXT. Seems pretty insignificant in normal usage But your report has been forwarded. So stay tuned for any further developments. If preview outline bugs you, try this version, which looks clean in preview. Offset_test.mp4
  6. Click on a file in the bin (top-left). Scroll Clip Preview to the desired frame. Right-click in the preview window. Use this frame as bin thumb frame.
  7. It's just fine in the current release. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If yours is a registered version that was purchased prior to six-months ago, go here and download the latest release that is dated within the free upgrade period. It should register, and the issue may be fixed. UNlicensed versions can always be test driven, but may have limited features. Retain your purchased installer and registration info.
  8. Not seeing that here. What VP version is being used. Try the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If you want to add effects to a mask, click the Clear Mask icon (to the right of the mask icon on the toolbar) first.
  9. What version of Videopad is being used? If you have backed up regularly there should be no reason to redo your work. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. Then a project can be reloaded by launching its VPJ file - hopefully one that you created after your last edits. Under OPTIONS | DISK menu, Clear Unused Cache Files. Then try the export once again. If it fails. reinstall Videopad. Here's the latest version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Still failing? Share the project with the forum. Someone will take a look and come up with a fix. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... 10. Seems to be just fine in 10.88, and no other complaints have been seen. Are you doing it as shown here? Double-click the movie for full screen. When dragging to a split point (junction between clips) note the broken vertical line, sometimes with arrows, that should be lined up with the split point. Record_2021_09_30_07_43_35_537.mp4
  11. The issue appears to be fixed in this build.
  12. Try the beta version, which at this moment is 10.88. No one else has reported an issue with drag/drop.
  13. Let's say that you have three ten minute segments to export. Swipe the first from zero to just after ten minutes and export. Swipe the second from just under ten minutes to just over twenty minutes and export. Swipe the third from just under 20 minutes to the end. Now each export has an 'overrun' that can be trimmed out when they are assembled. Nothing missing. When you swipe, you are dragging the red line. Start with where you want it, then drag to where the blue selection is to end. Start and end the selection just before and after a split point (a join between two clips) respectively, to make it easier to trim later. test.mp4
  14. Select the clips that are to be moved, along with the text blank. Right-click and Group them. All will move in concert. If you make a mistake click <ctrl-Z> to backtrack, step-by-step. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar.
  15. Hard to say why there's distortion when using the current version. Can't replicate it here. Since 8.45, VP architecture has changed somewhat. The path to an updated driver is outlined in the FAQ linked above. You shouldn't have to mess with Device Manager - especially in the case of a NVidia self-installing driver.
  16. First, for protection, Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. To insert text over a blank clip, use the controls under the preview window to go to the join point where you want the insertion to be... Then create a blank clip. Right-click on it in the bin (top-left) and Place On Sequence at Cursor. The blank appears between the clips. Click the blank clip on the sequence and then click ADD TEXT in the toolbar and choose the style. The text is superimposed over the blank. If you need to close a GAP, right-click in the gap, then Close Gap. insert.mp4
  17. Link is good here. http://www.oldversiondownload.com/oldversions/videopad-8-45-2020-05-26.exe If you check out the FAQ, the latest driver should be available from the manufacturer... https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10265.html If NVidia, for example, follow the instruction in the FAQ to download the appropriate file, then double-click it to install.
  18. There are a number of ways to split a project. Here is one, which will split your work into three :26 chunks, in this example. Or create smaller chunks... First, for protection, Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. With the scrubber (red line) at the head of the project, place the mouse pointer on the line, hold down the left button and swipe right up to about 26:05. That area turns blue. Right-click in the blue area and Export Selected Region. This will be your segment #1... Do the same for each segment, overlapping slightly with the prior segments, so nothing will be missed. Later, when assembling the segments for final export, you can trim excess duplication at the join points. This will take some practice. But if you have backed up the initial, full project, you should be good. If you make a mistake along the way, press <ctrl-Z> to backtrack, step-by-step.
  19. You did check for an updated video driver, and status of Direct-X? Very strange, and never seen before. Hints that it's related to your PC. Video editing is resource intensive but you should be having no problem with a simple Mpg file. Try this. Install this version as a test and see if that changes anything.
  20. Glad it worked out. When in the mood, try this version. Drag and drop from the bin to the timeline - whether a single file or many - seems to be fine. To select more than one, click each while holding down the <ctrl> key. To select the entire bunch use <ctrl-A>.
  21. Install this version. Drop back here if no change and list your PC's specs: CPU/RAM/GPU You can also share your project, and someone will take a look.
  22. Save your clipboard image as a jpg. Upload the file to MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here. Then we can see what you see. Please list your PC's specs: CPU/GPU/RAM
  23. Under OPTIONS | DISK tab, Clear Unused Cache Files. If no joy, download and install this version. Report back. The version # is shown on the start-up screen and at the left-bottom of the VP window.
  24. What release is being used? Looks normal here in this version. Try it. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Confirm that the video driver and Direct-X are up to date... https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10265.html
  25. Odd. From the toolbar, EXPORT | VIDEO FILE. In the export box click the blue Default Quality / Filesize link. In the menu that appears confirm that it is set to Auto Detect. Lossless can be overridden by turning it off. Click the chevron to the right of the words Auto Detect to see the drop-down menu. If this doesn't help, first back up your project. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. Then install the current release. If the issue persists, come back here.
