  1. Likely an XP thing. That file is fine here. You might try older VP versions, perhaps back in the 4.x to 6.x days.
  2. See what this file does for you. Double-click on it after downloading.
  3. Your image is visible here - almost a flat line. That's not normal, unless audio gain is very low. What VP version is being used? Try this one. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. You can also submit your low volume clip for analysis. Someone will check it out. Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."
  4. Each track is a layer. Higher tracks take precedence over lower. So if there's a background on track one, and a PNG (transparent) file on track two, the background will show through the transparent area. Add another image with transparency on track three and track one and two will show through its transparent area, as in this example... The result... Areas of the image or video can be made transparent by scaling them smaller, or masking. Or even chromakeying (green screen) if there is high contrast between the wanted and unwanted areas. Here, the Happy Face was a PNG and the boy had a white background that was chromakeyed out. Click ? (top-right) for HELP.
  5. This forum is primarily peer support - folks just like you helping and sharing. The Videopad home page lists... System Requirements Works on Windows 10, XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 8.1 Works on 64 bit Windows Mac OS X 10.5 or above Try the latest.
  6. Here is a listing of most Videopad versions. Try some out, to see what works best for you. Start with the most recent. These likely will be unregistered, unless you license.
  7. You can export video at any YouTube approved resolution and format and use their uploader. After that, it's up to YT. https://tinyurl.com/vyhuew5x https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/57407?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop If uploading directly from VP these choices are available...
  8. Several sync issues have been solved since the date of the post you responded to (8/7/20). Try out the latest release.
  9. Go to OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files, then attempt to load the project once again. Be sure that you are using this 64-bit VP version. If the project crashes, upload both the file - separately - and the project, which apparently does not yet contain the file. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  10. Seems that the file itself is in question. Try that - alone - first. How was the file created? What are the PC's specs: CPU / RAM / GPU?
  11. Let's take a look. Please upload the file and link it here. What are the PC's specs: CPU / RAM / GPU?
  12. What version of Videopad is being used - look at the bottom-left corner of the window.? Install the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. What's the format of the file? Upload it so others can take a look, or send it to me privately. Use a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."
  13. You might take a look at the Proxy Editing sticky post above for some ideas on working with large files.
  14. Close other applications while editing. That PC should be up to the task, using VP's 64-bit versions, though it could benefit by more RAM. An SSD is also a plus.
  15. What are your PC's specs: CPU / GPU / RAM? Video editing is resource intensive. With adequate PC resources, there should be few lag issues with the 64-bit version. The very best way to see what's going on is for you to share the project. Others will test it. This can be private. Just follow the instructions above.
  16. Watch for an updated French version. The 5.x series is long in the tooth. Consider a licensed upgrade. In the interim, restart. And before loading anything go to OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files, if that choice is available.
  17. Lossless export is subject to many restrictions... https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10288.html In export settings, the default should be AUTO DETECT, if available in that legacy version. Let's take a look at the project.
  18. Understood - "freeze" mode vs "overlap." Though unlicensed, you can test the latest release to verify whether it exports the project correctly. For your protection, Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. We look forward to reviewing your project file. Do not send the export or VPJ file. Everything needed should be covered by the instructions above.
  19. It is unclear where "stopped image" mode is seen. Please elaborate. What version of VP is being used. Look at the left-bottom of the window. Suggest updating to this version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If that does not solve the issue, share the project that exports poorly. Someone will take a look and come up with a fix. 20. You can animate a TRANSPARENCY effect. To fade up, move the 'opacity' slider to zero and click the green + sign on the toolbar, to set a keyframe. In the effects window, drag the red-line cursor a little later, where the fade up is to end, and then move the slider to 100%. That sets another keyframe. Move the slider to near the end, where the fade out is to begin, and create another keyframe by clicking the + sign. Finally, move the cursor to the very end, and the slider to zero. The graph should look something like this... Presets are also available. Just drag the blue line or the keyframe dots where you want them. To delete a keyframe, right-click on it. The closer the keyframes are to one another, the quicker the action between them. If you make a mistake, press <ctrl-Z>, to backtrack step-by-step. 22. This is an obscure bug, and has been reported. Use this version and you should be good for now. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  23. What version of Videopad is being used? Look at the left-bottom corner of the window. Please upload the project, for inspection. To place a link to a screenshot, upload the image to a free server, get a public (shared, not restricted) link, and post that link here.
  24. Stabilize is available here in the unlicensed 10.88 (64-bit) version. Right-click on a bin clip video and the choice should be active.
