  1. Yes, you can do it with WavePad. Use the batch converter tool and just skip step 2. For more details, see topic Batch Converter in Help File.

For converting files, I would recommend you to use Switch Audio Converter which can be downloaded at nch.com.au/switch.

  2. Hi,

Download the new version of WavePad 2.00 and try "Amplify" under the "Effects" menu. You can select "Quarter Volume" or "Half Volume" in the Presets pull down list or enter the amplify % if you like.

  3. Hi, these are WavePad internal files. WavePad will create these files when loading a file, but these files will be destroyed after the file is closed.

These files are created in the WavePad working folder only, which can be changed by go to Settings->Audio Processing. If you don't want to see these files on your desktop, change the working folder to something else.

  4. Hi, there is no automatic way to split file in WavePad. We will take it into consideration in future releases.

However, you can do it manually by locate the position where you want to split, then select Edit->Split into two at this point.

  5. Those related programs are not required, but they allow you to do additional functions if installed with WavePad. WavePad still works without installing these programs.

If you want to try all programs, download the new version of WavePad 2.00 from our website and follow the links on the Related Programs window to save the setup files of these programs to disk, then you can bring them to your father.

  6. Hi, do you have the voice activated recording option turned on? This option can be found under Record Control window->Advanced Record Options

If you ticked this option, WavePad will stop recording when the voice input level is less than the voice activated level. This may explain why you record for 1 hour, but your recording is less than 1 hour.

You can record up to 3 hours by using WavePad.

  7. I'm having the same problem and I paid for the Master Edition. Problem is I've saved hundreds of .mp3 files in the past but today it just says it can't open the file for saving. What gives???

I even uninstalled and reinstalled 1.11 but I get the same thing.

What error message does it display? You may try to install the mp3 encoder component again.

  8. It appears that the downloaded version of WavePad Free Edition does NOT include the ability to save an edited MP3 file.  I was frantically trying to complete a project at a site without any internet access - after editing an MP3 file, I attempted to save it, but received a message that I would need to DOWNLOAD a file before I could save the edited file.  Needless to say, I was SCREWED!!!

Now I am searching the NCH.com web site, in vain, for the file to download so that I can include it with the original download file.  Unfortunately, the file does not seem to exist.

I guess you get what you pay for, huh???

To save an mp3 file, you need to install our mp3 encoder. This component can be downloaded from our website at http://www.nch.com.au/components/mp3el.exe. After download the exe file, you need to double click the file to install it.

  9. It sounds very strange. Make sure that the setup file name is imssetup.exe. Did you download the setup file from our website at nch.com.au/ims?

  10. After you purchase a software licence from us, you receive an email containing your licence serial number and instructions on how to use this serial number to activate your software licence. This is done by entering the licence serial number and your personal details at http://www.nch.com.au/activate on our website. Once you have done this, the registration and activation code ("Name - Location - ID - Key") details will be displayed on your browser window and will also be automatically emailed to you. You then enter this information in the software's Registration window.

  11. Hi,

    Follow these steps:

~ Open the region list, select all regions that you want to burn to CD

    ~ Select Bookmark->Export Region(s) to Folder

~ Now load these files to Express burn to start burning

Hope this helps. There is a bug with the Bookmark->Copy Region(s) to CD option in this version, we are fixing it. Once it is fixed in next release, you can use this option instead of following the above steps.

  12. Hi,

You can find more details about these settings in the Help file of Switch Audio Converter (under section Encoder Settings). Switch can be downloaded from our website at nch.com.au/switch

We will add these into the Help file of WavePad future release.
