gaab, if you could give any tips how to use deshaker properly, because, everytime I tried to use it, Google Video Stabilizer produces much better stabilization therefore I have to upload to youtube, stabilize and download back and only after that I edit in Videopad. I just don't know how to make deshaker produce the same powerfull stabilization as google does. Deshakers stabilizes, but not so to worth using it...

Just choose File format .mpg and export as usual. When it is done, just rename file from *.mpg to *.vob and you are done.

I've tested this new feature - IT IS REALLY GREAT!!!!! For long times preview always started from the beggining and now it starts from cursor position. It is dramatically fantastic improvement. It was one of my dream features. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Another my dream feature is Export selected. Just select some portion of timeline with all its comples settings and mixes and it exports only selection. I do beleive someday this feature would be made and that would be awasome!!! Once more, thank you so much for cursor start preview feature!!

Jamida, just out of experience: if you make a video of webinar do not try to edit it in one piece. For example, if you have 2 hour webinar. Cut it in small pieces of 2-3 minutes and edit them separatelly. When you are done you can easiely to glue them up. This trick allow you to finish your job in 5 times faster!!! I know it from experience!!

Congratulations with new 4.14 release. Render is MUCH faster now!!!! I didn't do benchmarks, but I feel that it is MUCH MUCH faster. As we call this in russian speed gain is seen by unarmed eyes It means we do not need to benchmark to see it is much faster!!! AND FINALLY!! Option list in export to file dialog now remebers all my custom sizes which are 1280x540 and 720x304 and now I do not need to put them each time I just choose option from the list Thank you so much for this improvement!!!!!! PS. In v. 4.14 Ctrl + B still opens export dialog to 2 step chosing chaing before I get export to file dialog.

It's a great tip and workaround!!! Thank you so much. I use Ctrl + C, Ctrl + X, Ctrl + V a lot and therefore your idea is super for me, beacause I know how to move Red line by numbers!!

Let's say I have audio file (clip) on timeline at 00:28.300 and want to move it to 00:27.900 in order to match ADR with lips movement of movie character. How can I do it by numbers, becase when I move clip as usual by mouse I always miss the point and the only way is to zoom at maximum and move.

Dazzray, CPU and memory does not affect your probjem. I have E8400 and 4Gb RAM and Windows XP and use Videopad for about 1 year or a bit less. There are 2 ways to increase edit speed 1) Options change Preview Resolution to Width 240 x Height 135 2) Use SSD Disk instead of HDD. You can store all files on HDD, but when you want to edit video, just copy files you want to edit and edit them. When you are done, copy result back to HDD. Using SSD will speed your edit to about 3-4 times. You will defintly see the speed gain. As for me, I use 500G HDD for storage and 16G SSD for Windows, Videpad and videofiles I currenlty edit. And I have very fast editing system as result.

Just using situation I want to say once more what features would be great welcome which are dream-functions. 1) Remember custom export sizes in export as file dialog. When I just searching for suitable cut I export 720x304 to export faster. But when I'm close final cut I export 1280x540. But if I do not like result or want to try new ideas I switch back to 720x304. And this 720x304 to 1280x540 switch I manually do a lot. 2) Export selected only. It works like this: press Ctrl and click each piece on timeline I want to export and text result. Then Click Ctrl + B and it exports videofile and I test it. And get back to editing to find better solution for cut. PS. By the way. For this case I always have to press Crop Edges button in (Crop Edgets / Resize To Fit / Cancel dialog. So It would be great to have some checkbox for remember my choice to avoid this step. And if I want to change my choice I just go to Option dialog and change to Ask each time option for this case) The save is with done dialog. Open folder ... or ok. It would be great to have 3'rd button - Play video. And checkbox remember my choice. So for my case I just make comuter always crop and always play after export is done. And if I want to change this options I just go to Options and choose Ask every time for these two dialogs. - - - Congrats with Vesion 4.11 release once more!!

Version 4.11 is a real awesome one!! It's so comfortable now!! 1) No autoaudio noise on cursor!! Yes!!! That is so great!! 2) Now we have Export button go directly to Save as file without 2 additional steps. But Ctrl + B hotkey (which I use a lot) still calls Export wizard, but I can change my habbit and press Export button to go directly to Export file menu. Thank you so much for these changes!! - - - And I want to add some remarks I've found. Just a case... 1) When we have 3 clips and take 3'rd clip and move and insert after 1'st before 2'nd then the 2'nd moves and becomes new 3'rd and the old 3'rd becomes new 2'nd. But when I lock the second timeline where my PNG image is placed and works as filter and I don't want to cut it, in this case when I move 3'rd clip after the 1'st, than this clips overwrites the 2'nd and does not move it. So it the 2'nd clip was shorter than the 3'rd it is destroyed and it it was longer only tail is left. To solve this problem I cut clips on one sequence, create 2'nd sequence. Insert 1'st sequence in 2'nd secuence and add PNG on second sequence to protect PNG from cutting. 2) when we place clip on timeline icon (thumbnail) is rendered on left part of clip. But when I cut beginning of this clip icon is cut too and only part of icon is left. If I cut too much from the beginning then I have a clip without icon at all and could not understand what clip is what. That is a problem for cases when we have 2 clips and want to cut each clip for 4 parts and place them in order 1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2 (or if pieces of first clip 1-2-3-4, second clip is 5-6-7-8 we want to make 1-5-2-6-3-7-4-8) in this example pieces 3-7-4-8 usually appear withou icons at all becuase their cutted icons are placed on 1-4-2-5 pieces. I think a menu item something like Upadate Thumbnail for piece of video can solve this problem. 3) If we want to preview video it always stars from the beginning. It would be great to start preview from where cursor on timelime is and It would be great to start preview with Ctrl + Shift + Space, becase Space now is for playback in window and Ctrl + Space is for playback audio only. - - - Once more, please accept my congratulations with such a great version release!!!! Videopad FOREVER!!

Bob, I do not understand what is your problem. There are javascript functions to work with cookies. So, algorythm is simple as piece of cake. 1) read your cookie parameter 2) if it is > 1 then kill videotag 3) if no set cookie so, nothing special...

It is just a friday chat, but... I can't find words to express how I HATE new feature when we move cursor and hear this f***cking noise of auto audio noise!! I made hundreds and hundreds curses (wishes of something bad) to the person (developer) who did this feature but have not added option to disable it. The same hate, but emotiannly less I feel when some developer added additional two steps before exporting. I export A LOT and therefore today I have to press 2 times more useless buttons. You know, usually developers have a list of features that they added in new release. But know what, I think it is good idea if developers would start to have a list of features they KILLED. Or, that would be better, just make a rule for developer: if you want to make some new feature, ALWAYS add option (disable) to allow long term users to enable previous functionality. Because, what is comfortable for developer and what may seam as brilliant idea, is NOT always a real good. - - - And now what is great in this terrible situation. This new f***cking feature with autosound made me learn how to work with sequences. And today, because, I can not disable this f****ing on cursor move sound autoplayback, I make a cut without sound in sequence 2, then insert sequence 2 in sequence 1 where I have sound and think trick allows me to work with video without this f***ing nose on cursor move. That's why I say there is no bad without good!!

There is a cool feature for audio tracks called Save audio clip as new file But is there a feature for video tracks to Save video track as new file without manual exproting??? It is not about confort, because using powefull tool as Sequence we can create sequence, add videos and insert sequece as this video. The matter is about speed. When we have a lot of effects everytime we do export all these effects are rendered again and again. And if we would have Save video track as new file we could render piece of video just once with appllied effects and after that final render would be faster because effects for all pieces of videos were aleady prendered. Or killing feature would be Render and replace command. It calculates all the effects, creates a new file in videobin and replaces videoitem with Change file functionality. - - - For now we mannully do 1) copy video to new sequence 2) export 3) add to bin 4) delete old file 5) insert new But with feature change file 3) + 4) + 5) are now just one 3) Change file

Change File for any sequence Item is great idea, but usually in 99% cases we do not want to change file, but to correct file. So, it would be SO GREAT to have Edit in external editor feature to allow editing of images with Paint.NET (free image editing software) and editing audio with Audacity (free audio editing software).

Just adding tip for others: if you want to find your image amoung other image, just right click context menu for this image in sequece and choose Show original clips and will open your clip in bin and after that you can change item with Change file...

There is a great audio fx filter called reverb that makes sound deeper, wet and massive. But is there any tip how to use audio fx filters to make sound more dry (remove echo flavor) because sound was recoded in big hall and it is difficult to understand speech for long time)? Or may be ANTI-reverb effect can be acieved in reverb audio effect but I just do not know what exact options to set??

Let's say I have images tuned with effects and placed at the corrent positions. And now to want to make some small change in source of this image, but do not want to change effects and position and I do not want to WASTE time for setting this position and effects again if I delete and instert new image. How can I replace source, but do not touch frames and everything else?

When I add music at the bottom I want to cut it by the end of video track. For that purpose I need to put cursor right at the end. But everytime I put cursor a small piece of video cut too, because it is impossible visually to put cursor EXACTLY at the end. I tried to select videoclip and press END button, but nothing happens. How shoud I do this action?

That's ok solution for one audio track project, but if there are several tracks it is very annoying to turn them off / on because by this button audio is disabled even when I press PLAY button (or Space button). But when I press Play button I do want to hear sound. I do not want to head sound when I move cursor around and cut and paste portions of video.

For now I found solution: when we select by pointing red CARET we hear audio but if we select by pointing red vertical LINE under caret - there is no sound but selection and cursor moves ok That's a workaround for now, untill we found out where the option to turn this feature off.

In 4.10 there is a new feature when we put cursor to select video audio is plaing automatically Now editing process is ALWAYS goes with constant noise when I put cursor there and there for making cuts. Question: how can I disable this feature???
