  1. Merge projects

    Automatic Project Merge

If a template sequence contains placeholder clips (accessed in Home Tab -> Add Objects -> Add Placeholder Clip), then you can use the automatic merge feature to quickly substitute the placeholders with your own clips.

    • Place your desired clips on Video Track 1 and/or Audio Track 1.
    • Access the dropdown on the Templates button on the Home tab's tool bar.
    • Press Merge Open Project with VideoPad Project... which will bring up the file explorer.
    • Select any project which has placeholder clips in it.

The selected project will be merged into the current project and the merged result will appear on a new sequence. Placeholder video clips in the template project will be replaced by your clips on Video Track 1, and placeholder audio clips will be replaced by any unlinked audio clips on Audio Track 1. Only placeholders on Video Track 1/Audio Track 1 will be substituted.

Any effects, transitions or fades that were applied to the clips in the template will be preserved in the resulting merged sequence. If an overlay in the template ends exactly where a video placeholder ends, then in the merged result the corresponding overlay will have been stretched or shortened, if possible, to match the length of the substitute clip.

  2. When editing is complete you can export the project in any number of formats.  The amount of time it takes varies by format, project length and other factors.

If export results in only audio, then obviously something went wrong.  Please share your project, per the instructions here, and someone will take a look.

Indicate what file format and resolution were used for your attempt.  Use version 7.01, released on 2/7/19.

  3. You can edit the WMV, then export in any suitable format for your WEB presentation.

Or, later, if the AVI import issue is corrected, it should be possible to replace the WMV with the original file, per the Proxy instructions, and export that result.

    Again, no guarantees.^_^

  4. Mike, eyeing the source material it appears there would be little degradation in going with the WMV file.  Looks good here on a 24-inch monitor.   But, that's subjective of course.

Using the WMV as a proxy is an approach that would allow you to get busy with editing while the issue is addressed.  Here's how that works...

No guarantees, but it should succeed.  If not, it should at the least result in a usable production.

  5. Please upload the full single file to a free server such as Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive or the like.  You may have to create an account.

Then make it public (share it).  Paste that public link here, so someone can access it and download the file.

  6. Tested four clips - up to thirty-second duration - without incident.  Halfway through there's a brief flash of a box that's titled "deshaker."

Post a link to a clip that crashes for you.

  7. Loaded your seven source files (plus the VPJ file) and Videopad indicated that no files were missing...

Yet video ends at about 1:20 while audio continues to near 3:10.  So this does not appear to be the completed project??

Also, the video files contain eight channels of audio each, which VP won't handle well.  Suggest that they be converted to two-track stereo.
