  1. The C:\Program Files (86)\ path is where 32-bit programs are normally found. But not always. Dropping back to a restore point when things worked is certainly worth considering. In Windows 10, open the Action Center (bottom-right of window), click ALL SETTINGS and in the search box type "restore point." Click on Create a Restore Point. Click the SYSTEM RESTORE button and proceed through the prompts. Remember that you will lose all changes and saved files between the time the restore point was created and now, so back up what you need beforehand.
  2. To find project files do a search of your drive for the extension .VPJ. There's bound to be a folder that contains all those saved files. You mention that the error occurs when you attempt to "upload." Upload to where? Do you mean it happens when you try to export? How to share your PORTABLE project file: The best way to help developers diagnose the problem is sharing your project files - not the exported file. Follow these steps... 1. Save your project. Then leave it on the timeline, complete with transitions, effects, etc. Optional: Under the various bin tabs, delete files that do not have green check marks. If a prompt states "file in use" don't remove it. 2. Click the 'hamburger' menu (three horizontal lines at the top-left of the VP window). Click on FILE menu. From the new menu that drops down, click on Save PORTABLE Project As. Choose a folder and click SELECT FOLDER. A folder with all the project files will appear where you specified. Its name will be similar to this: 2019-04-23 15-58-07 Right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES and note its size. If there is insufficient free space on the server to accommodate that size, the upload will fail. 3. If size is okay, upload the folder or all the files it contains to MS OneDrive, Google Drive, DropBox or the like. Sign up or sign in. They're free. 4. Share (get a shareable link) and copy that link. 5. Paste the link into your post here or privately...
  3. Using Windows Explorer (the file manager) go to C:\Program Files (86)\NCH Software\videopad\ Is there a file there named Videopad.exe? If so, double-click on it. If not, download the attachment here and put it in that folder. Then double-click the file. videopad.exe
  4. Right-click and install as administrator. Probably won't help, but won't hurt either. First ever report of this behavior.
  5. Old thread with an unrelated subject. It's best to begin a new one with a descriptive subject. The narration clips should be added on the next higher track - often automatically - without disrupting others. To force that, try locking the other tracks prior to adding narration. Right-click at the left of each track to see that choice.
  6. Sounds as if you are attempting to run the program, prior to install. Here's the 7.32 installer. And try this one - the latest version.
  7. Changing the batch compressor does not appear to be an option. You can however import your movies as separate sequences, then FILE | EXPORT ALL SEQUENCES. VP will prompt for each, and the compressor can be chosen on an individual sequence basis.
  8. Irrespective of VP (or other NLE) version, video editing in general is resource intensive. While 4GB RAM may suffice for simple projects at least 8 and, better still, 16 or 32GB is recommended. Here's some reading on the subject.
  9. VPJ is not an export format and cannot be played. When a project is saved, that's the control file. It contains pointers to the files and instructions on effects/transitions, etc. If you saved the project and did not delete or move the source files, just double-click the VPJ to load it into Videopad. Or open VP, click FILE | RECENT in the menu bar and click on your project. What error did you encounter, specifically? If the Mp4 finished export is good in a media player, then it can be loaded into Videopad. YouTube direct uploads from VP can occasionally fail. In that case simply export in a YT acceptable format (Mp4 should be fine) and use their uploader. If issues persist, load the original project (not the export) fully onto the timeline. Then FILE | SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS, to share with the forum or privately. Someone will help. Here's how... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ If it contains sensitive material link it in a personal message (PM). Click the envelope above. It won't be passed on or retained. Use FILE|SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS, not simply SAVE PROJECT, and don't forget to get a shareable link to post.
  10. In some respects NCH is more beneficent than other NLE providers who offer only yearly upgrades - at a price. Videopad updates are free for six-months. Plus, the unlicensed versions can be test driven indefinitely, though some features are limited. Just now tested the 'free' v8.45. The newer split-screen behavior was available, though it might not be later. If Mp4 export is unavailable, AVI usually succeeds.
  11. ...and switch to Storyboard mode. See it there is an unwanted snippet of a clip between the two in question. If so, delete it and close the gap (right--click).
  12. What version of Videopad is being used? Share the project and someone will check it out. Issues are normally solved quickly. Sharing is easy, takes but a minute and can be private. We don't need the export, just the PORTABLE project. Here's how... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ If it contains sensitive material link it in a personal message (PM). Click the envelope above. 13. Fine. Checked 7.03. It seemed to export full screen, and in the correct A/R, if all effects were simply removed from the video clip.
  14. Did not test 7.03. but in the latest version, 8.45, removing all crop effects, leaving Stretch to Aspect Ratio (auto) and the rotation seemed to do a nice job. On the first image, Crop to Aspect Ratio 16:9 was used. Your source video is 9:16 (vertical). The export is 16:9 at 1080 default Mp4 settings.
  15. This is an old thread. It's best to begin a new topic with a descriptive subject and details in the body. You can download and install the latest for free. It will have some limitations - mainly with effects and exporting - unless you license it. If you have lost licensing info on the old version it should still run, as above. When exporting, try the AVI choice. What version was this?
  16. Certainly agree with Nat on that. Much depends upon content, and you don't want to be 'pumping,' Minimal ducker settings are worth a test. Try this...
  17. Sounds like 'looping' is what you're after. You can copy/paste the sequence content repeatedly, and even loop it in Videopad preview. But the exported video won't do this...unless you configure same in a player. As an example, MPC-BE can repeat a video endlessly. You could then include its output in your podcast.
  18. Click the HOME menu tab, than the Record Narration toolbar button. A screen appears where the project will play as you add narration. To record narration, there must already be at least one clip (of any type) on the sequence. Then do one of the following: lSelect "Clip" -> "Record" -> "Narrate". lClick the arrow next to the "Record" button the tool bar and select "Narrate.". http://help.nchsoftware.com/help/en/videopad/win/content_narration.html Once you have the narration correctly placed on the audio overlay track, try the ducker to automatically dip background music/audio when narration comes in. Ducker settings are under OPTIONS | AUDIO tab. To enable the ducker, right click on the background track and click BACKGROUND SOUND.
  19. Result will be three sequence clips that, re-imported, can be exported as a single video.
  20. When you have completed and saved your project, delete all but the text overlay files. Then click the 3-lined 'hamburger' menu at the top-left of the VP window, click FILE and SAVE PROJECT AS. Give it a name like "text_overlays." Next project, click the FILE menu and IMPORT FILES FROM ANOTHER PROJECT - choosing the "text_overlays" VPJ file. The text files will appear under IMAGES tab in the bin, ready to be dropped into that new project.
  21. Yes, also experiment with simply adding a fade transition to the end of the overlay. Test different lengths to see if this does what you have in mind. Record_2020_06_07_17_42_43_137.mp4
  22. Ahh, better still. Paid little attention to that feature in the past.
  23. It's clear now. The setting applies to clips TO BE ADDED to the timeline. Toggling the option after clips are in the sequence doesn't change the behavior; it remains as it was specified when the clips were added.
  24. When you refer to 'still frame transitions' do you mean those that have unlinked audio at the same junction?
  25. Uncheck the box. See below for when this is applied.
