I have no idea what nch would have on that, I don't think they do.
you need some kind of special time-code software
just do a search....
good luck
-
nope, you need a developer or compiler or something.
I'm stretching here for the right word....
You probably need a programmer, who knows how to compile/integrate the software
I really don't know where to go with that!!!!
start searching....
good luck

ok fine
have it your way
but I doubt they'll do anything, it took them a cpl years to redo the shopping cart so it would accept my cc
it was like trying to move a mule....

DUDE!!!!!

I tried to record sound track from an outside player such as CD player, plug in to microphone of my notebook. I tried both mono and stero, but I can not record both R and L tracks. How could I do that and see both tracks and both FFTs in wavepad? Thanks, Carl
your first mistake is plugging in to the microphone
you need to use a line-in jack
if you don't have one, you have two options
get a USB converter to makeup for the jack you don't have,
[ such as M-Transit ]http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Transit/
or play with the input on the mic input, [ in recording devices ]
but I don't see that working out too well, because you'll have mixed
impedences that won't like each other, you'll get a crappy sound at best.

I would like to know how to do a silent install for Wavepad as I am creating a Unattended Windows XP CD?
you mean you wish to add this to windows on the install disc?
-
From what I can tell on this page: http://www.nch.com.au/wavepad/ Wavepad sound editor is free (the ordinary version). Yet days after installing this software, it is telling me trial version expired.
So is it free or not? Cos it makes no mention of purchase on that link above.
Thanks.
It is FREE
it is FREE, to try....

Is there an area where all the components [ plugins ] for wavepad can be downloaded?
Currently one is only aware of a deficiency when trying to do an operation when suddenly
WavePad connects to the net to retrieve that which should have been included upon paying for the product!
I can't seem to find any nor do I know how many there are.
It would be nice to have.
Perhaps someone has cataloged them.

WavePad v . 3.05 Help Button won't load on a computer using Vista Home Premium. Instead a pop-up window appears that offers a Microsoft link with a fix. The fix consists of 2 possible downloads with no information about which to select. I selected the first, tried to install it and Vista said it wouldn't work... So I selected the second and it seemed to install. However, when I click the WavePad Help Button, the manual still does not load and now the pop-up with the link is missing, too. Instead a Windows pop-up appears that says the app.hlp Help File cannot be located. I suppose that's the file the Microsoft download should have installed. I searched the system, too, and found no such file. Just posting this for everyone to see in case anyone else has the same problem. I'm done here.
the answer may lay under tool and wavepad options where you CHOOSE or NAME the working file for wavepad,
I was getting weird anomalies and also got the same message directing me to microslut
I downloded the fix and renamed the working file to another location, not the default
now all is well.
no more anomalies and the help file now pops
but I still can't record with any software....

Hello,
It is possible to get the each word starting times from wavepad?. For eg. consider "track1.mp3". This mp3 file contains the audio like "This is wavepad". Now what I want is, I need to capture the starting times of each word like below
"this=2059"
"is=4790"
"wavepad=5040.5"
If this is possible means how can I get this?.
Expecting positive reply soon...
Thanks...
you'll need timecode software
the film industry specializes in that
I've never had the need for it so I don't know who would carry that
happy surfing....

I have similar problems BUT
I save my project,
hit burn CD
or through the file menu,
it always downloads the plug in and the Burn software and sets it running
(yes it downloads it every time and the plug in)
NOW
I thought it would load the files I saved into the burn software and dot the whole job but its empty!
where do I select the files
how do I select the files?
I want to be automatic, not rumaging through where did I save those files, do I mean this one and all that
am I being silly?
You help or sympathy please
GN
well, I just tried it on mine
and express burn popped and the current file that was open in wavepad
was there in express burn ready to go....so, I don't know what's wrong with yours
you may want to reboot wavepad and start again

Trying to convert my edited songs into MP3 but already appears in WAV format. Upon initially opening the song into the program it converts it automatically to WAV.
Im using Mac OS X.5 Leopard.
Help please!
"converting" ?
ummmm....when ever I'm trying to save a file after editing it
I clik file.....[ because cliking the save button, will save it as the default that I don't want ]
then go to "save file as"
then I CHOOSE mp3 AND I type a new name to the file [ this preserves the original file, if needed ]
after I verify the file is fine and I no longer need the original whether it is mp3 or wav, then I delete it.
hope that helps...

it was the "working" file in the "c" drive....
I named a new file in the "d" drive and retried the operation and VOILA
it works
tho, I still can't RECORD off the soundcard....with ANYTHING, no software works
I can't record off a microphone either!
I looked all over the properties in the sound and audio device section in vista for clues
I changed a few things around and tested them and then put them back to the original setting
and I still can figure out what is wrong
even the onboard recorder that comes with vista won't record anything!

I suppose that an, oem xp pro, is the way to go....
no easy roll back to xp from vista just advertising folly to hook folks [ seen the roll back comment on tigerdirect flyer ]

I need to use WavePad master’s edition on a laptop which has no internet connection. Is this possible?
I have so far downloaded the trial version on another computer and then copied it across to the laptop via a memory stick. The trial version works fine on the laptop.
I have purchase a license serial number and when buying the software I have made sure I clicked on the ‘CD-ROM, Printed Manual’ Delivery option which they offer (though I do not know for sure if they mean its just the manual on CR-ROM or the WavePad software. I of course require the latter).
I have not yet convert the 12-digit serial number into registration details.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
You won't be able to do much.
Here's my story,
mine was originally installed on my laptop which was hooked up to the net
but when visiting a friend with laptop in hand I tried to show someone how great the software was [ on XP ]
I couldn't process an operation because it was trying to connect to the internet for a temp plugin [ these plugins don't seem to stay ] and now I know why it is such a small file size on the download....it connects automatically to the net for the" as needed " plugins ]
I was not pleased at all.
I figured I paid for the software, it should come with everything I need on it and not have to connect to the net, except to get needed/wanted updates
not typical plugins
wavepad falls short on this feature...:-(

Mate i agree with you. but i didnt really have a choise. it all came preloaded and i dont have an original copy of XP and i cant really afford to go forking out more money buyin legal copies of all these OP's. From what i've used of Vista so far it sucks ass compared to XP. it may look pretty and all that but tbh i'm not into it for the glitter and glam. i want to see and feel everything and want to be incontrol of my comp. not the otherway round. There is wind that Microsoft are releasing a brand new OP in 2 years that will void vista anyways, so if i were u i wouldnt bother if u were thinkin of gettin it. (thats to all that read this)
Still doesnt solve my problem tho. so any info on that case would be great. cheers .
DJ
I'm pretty sure that as a VISTA owner, that you [ WE ] have "the right" to
roll back to XP
I'd contact microslut and ask them, how does one do that.
[ I'm considering doing that myself ]
sorry I don't have a better answer
============
ScottM
thanks for that tip!!!!!! [ my levels were ok ]
I still can't record anything off the net [ using the soundcard ] with any software that worked fine on XP, while using the SAME software on VISTA

ok here's the deal
I'm editing file "A", under "effects", like automatic gain control
and after a cpl minutes of processing, the file that is processed
is not only a completely different file say file "z" , but also the speed changed on it!!!!!!
and it is playing at chipmunk speed, so I must reduce it by 50% before I can Identify the file, which is NOT the file I was working on!!!!
I had no other files open or minimized while doing this normally simple operation to the file.
I've done this operation hundreds of times without any weirdness like this at all.
The only thing that wavepad seemed to do on a semi-regular basis, was freeze up during saving a file where I had to close wavepad
and then reboot it and obviously reopen the file I was working on.
there are two other oddities that may be related...one was an unusual amount of HD space was being used up [ this is recent too ]
and I also got an odd warning about "unauthorized to use a temp file" on the screen that I though was odd. then later [ I figure wavepad uses a temp file in case you wish to "undo" ]
So there must be something screwy with the tempfile messing with the HD size [ a 15mb file was using up 4G of HD space!!! ]
So, I deleted wavepad and reinstalled it and it still screws things up.
I defragged the drive etc and rebooted
about the only thing I CAN do, it to delete advertisements off of radio programs
but using the automatic gain control and the dynamic range compression, which I found quite useful, can no longer be used....:-(
I may have to SAVE all my stuff and do a recovery[ reinstall factory settings ] back to new condition
:-(
....I hate vista....

I'm using Edit/Speed Change to reduce the speed to, say 90% and find that the original file length is maintained and the end of my file "disappears". i.e original file length was 4.00min and after changing the speed it stays as 4.00 mins and the remaining say 15secs disappears.
Is there any way to stop this from happening?
Thanks
you may want to try to add some extra time to the end
prior to the speed change
hope that works for ya...:-)

Im in the middle of activating my details in wavepad but I dont understand what it means by
State/Province?
City - State/Province - Post Code
and
End User's Name:
End User's Email Address:
Does anyone know what they mean by that? I dont want to make any mistakes.
ok, I'll bite...
If you purchased this, it's the same info you used at purchasing time
the easiest thing to do , is to copy and paste that info at purchase time into notepad
or other text program, so it can be copied as needed later on...like right now
and if you didn't purchase it, you can't register...
Fuzzy wuzzy was not a bear...it was my audio!

I noticed when doing a pitch change a while back, it gave me a very annoying whine.
I couldn't get rid of it
I'd look to see there may be the original recording there that you forgot about.
other than that, wavepad is pretty basic and not really what I'd call an audio scrubber.
you just may be stuck with what you have
