  1. I don't like the dark colors, there should be a color/skin combo option

    It does cut a track where you mark it, better that the old 3.05 did. [ I had to go in and verify the cut, and most times I had to redo it ] not so with the newer version

  2. Dynamic range compressoer does just that, it compresses the range.

    Personally, I find the huge 90db range of somethings to be quite annoying,

    the whole thing where you turn up the volume to hear the soft parts...then all of a sudden it blasts you out of your chair, that may be fun for some, but quite annoying to me, so I'll use the range compressor to make it closer to what you'd hear off the radio.

  3. you know, when I go thru the trouble of telling it to make 5 copies,

    the last thing I need to do is to clik ok again after the 1st disk got burned.

    it should just be in waiting mode for the drawer to close then verify the disc to burn!

    THAT'S IT!!!! Enough with the added cliking already....sheesh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    STOP THE REDUNDANCY..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...PLEASE..!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. I'd make a duplicate copy of the recording, and use that to experiment with, then;

    then reduce the volume to 25%

    Then copy the part you want amplified to a file by itself

    highlight part of the file like 33% of it raise the volume 130%

    then highlight and raise the volume on the next third to 140%

    then highlight and raise the volume on the last third to 190%

    those are just suggested percentages try it, play it back, and readjust as necessary til it sounds right

    then copy and paste into the final file

  5. you may want to try this;

    go to ;

    tools

    options

    audio processing

    clik "use this specified folder"

    then name your own folder and drive [ example - D:\audio\wavepad-working-folder ]

    clik ok

    ----------

    that seems to fix a lot of things. don't ask why...

  6. The 1st thing I'd do is to re-name your working directory.

    It seems to be the center of all the ills from the boogeyman with this software. Why? I don't know, just try it and let me know what happened.

    go to ;

    tools

    options

    audio processing

    clik "use this specified folder"

    then name your own folder and drive [ example - D:\audio\wavepad-working-folder ]

    clik ok

  7. Hi,

    I don't understand why it is, but I found a solution.

    The original files were recorded at 16k samples/sec. If I save them at 48k samples/sec then playback is in tune with the original.

    It looks like wavepad can playback at 48k/s just fine, but plays 16k/s a bit slow

    Hope this helps someone.

    Mark.

    Well, it looks like you've stumbled onto a fix, but I don't know how long that will work for.

    if it comes back, try my solution in the post above.

  8. This happens over and over and over and over again.

    I have answered this problem, THE MOST, of all the questions that I've answered.

    go to ;

    tools

    options

    audio processing

    clik "use this specified folder"

    then name your own folder and drive [ example - D:\audio\wavepad-working-folder ]

    clik ok

  9. i have since found that the audio source that was on my video from my digital camera, was to loud, and was causing vibrations on my camera speakers. do you think this would help? if you think so, where would i find it? i do not see in downloads here. have you ever used it? how does it work? thanks a lot for the replies.

    " do you think this would help?"

    WHAT is this?

    "where would i find it? "

    I can't figure out what you're looking for now!

    Sorry, you're not very clear about what you want. Could you please re-phrase ?

  10. I use Windows XP. I have license to use WavePad. Windows Task Manager shows that there are 2 mp3enc.exe instances. The questions are:

    1. Why mp3enc.exe run twice?

    2. I use Windows search and I find two programs of the same name located at C:\Program Files\NCH Software\Components\mp3el and C:\Program Files\NCH Swift Sound\Components\mp3sel. Norton System Works indicates that both mp3enc.exe processes are from the same "NCH Swift Sound" folder. Control Panel shows only one "WavePad Sound Editor". Can I delete "NCH Software" folder?

    2. The two programs run even when I am NOTusing WavePad at that time. For example, restarting Windows and I immediately see them running. Why do they run even if I am not using WavePad?

    3. The total CPU the two programs use is about 7-10% CPU. Is it possible to reduce their CPU usage, or not starting them when not using WavePad?

    Thanks.

    How about [ delete ] then reinstall?!

    And have you renamed your working folder yet?

    My wavepad worked fine for a while, then it started acting up, til I renamed the working folder, now the problems stopped! Why? I don't know, all I know is they stopped.

  11. I thank you for your reply. i managed to change around now, with the 3 video segments i have, by deleting the sound, and adding another song into the corrupt one. now, each time i would make my program with 1 video, with sound and all blanks, for headings, i would go and try another video, and when i would instal it, the 1st one would go. same with the 3rd on. i can never get all three videos into 1 program to burn to dvd, nothing recognises to convert or anything with the other programs i have, like, studio 10, sonic, image burn, nor dvd shrink. can you help me with that? thanks, Jimmy

    You may want to try the dynamic range compressor, just to see what it can do.

  12. I was listening to a mp3 track that has a spike in it so I

    immediately wanted to edit it with WavePad. (which I have

    done many, many times before)

    I have never had this happen before, but it only loads 1:52

    of the 4:16 minute song and then "lines out".

    Tried numerous times to reload it with the same results

    each time and it loads both the file before it and after it

    with no problems.

    The song plays fine in WMP, VLC, Winamp and Quintessetial.

    Even though I have uninstalled and reinstalled, it's not the

    program because I have it on two machines and it is doing

    the same thing on both. (just tried in case)

    It has to be something with the file but I can't figure out why

    the file will play with no problems and then not entirely load

    in WavePad. (and the spike is not at 1:52, it's like at 2 or 3

    something so that is not it either)

    Any ideas/thoughts appreciated.

    Thanks

    There is a thread on weirdness/anomalies

    nobody reads tho.

    try this;

    go to ;

    tools

    options

    audio processing

    clik "use this specified folder"

    then name your own folder and drive [ example - D:\audio\wavepad-working-folder ]

    clik ok

  13. ok , I just looked again, wavepad does not give record pad as a bundle, BUT

    recordpad does have wavepad as a bundle!!!

    So you can get what you want.

    Be sure to rename the working folder [ in wavepad ] as a preventative to anomalies;

    go to ;

    tools

    options

    audio processing

    clik "use this specified folder"

    then name your own folder and drive [ example - D:\audio\wavepad-working-folder ]

    clik ok

  14. WavePad 3.05 has worked fine for me for the past 8 months or so, but now it has developed glitches and I'm in the middle of an important job.

    Where can I download my original purchase without having to pay all over again?

    Mine developed glitches too.

    [ I can't believe you deleted your setup file !!! ]

    Anyways...try this to fix your glitches;

    go to ;

    tools

    options

    audio processing

    clik "use this specified folder"

    then name your own folder and drive [ example - D:\audio\wavepad-working-folder ]

    clik ok

    That should stop the weirdness.

  15. I have a long audio recording in mp3 format of 77MB in size and 56mins in length, which I have attempted to break into appropriate sections.

    However, when I break the mp3 into up into smaller sections of between 5 and 6 mins the files individually vary in size between 40 and 70 MB and now collectively are of size 557 MB. The files have been saved as uncompressed .wav files. I also tried saving them as lame mp3's but could not get a satisfactory reduction in file size.

    I would like to maintain the mp3 overall combined file size at 77MB after I split it up into smaller files so I can burn onto a music album onto a CD-R.

    Can anyone recommend a file type or method which will allow me to split this audio file into 10 tracks without increasing the size?

    Your file size [ theoretically ] can only grow if you change something.

    You neglected to mention what the bit-rate and frequency were on the original as comparedto the saved versions.

    I'll bvet if you check, you'll find a difference, hence the increase in file size.

    In order to save properly and not get "fixed" by the default setting,

    first fix the frequency, there is an option under file, convert sample rate, once you change that, then choose save file as, then choose bit rate.

  16. Yes.

    You have a typical anomalie, it should be easy to fix.

    go to

    tools

    options

    audio processing

    clik "use this specified folder"

    then name your own folder and drive [ example - D:\audio\wavepad-working-folder ]

    clik ok

    DON'T ASK WHY IT WORKS, I have no idea.

    I was having the same problem, and that is what I did to fix it.

    That's all I can tell you.

  17. I was going to say NO!

    But then I went and had a look, and as usual, you never know what dumb things they will do.

    I no longer see the page with the variety of combinations of offers, they've boxed people in to a corner again, trying to pidgeonhole folks.

    It can be very frustrating.

    Maybe they simply moved the page, but I don't see it.

    Try emailing them what you wish to purchase and see what that gets you.

    Sorry, that's the best I can offer up.

  18. it sounds like an anomalie.

    try this [ then reboot ]

    tools

    options

    audio processing

    clik "use this specified folder"

    then name your own folder and drive [ example - D:\audio\wavepad-working-folder ]

    clik ok

    I had a variety of weird problems that just stopped after re-naming the working folder.

    no, I don't know why.

    sorry.
