  1. Mac Intel OS 10.14.6 WavePad 12.47 Just got a newer computer and had to repurchase WavePad. Problems were immediately noticeable. I have two small issues and then a group related problems. I am hoping that someone can show me what it is that I am doing wrong or what are bugs that have cropped up in the current version. 1. Can't edit the name of a bookmark; you must retype the entire entry. 2. You can no longer click in the overview panel and have your cursor appear below where you clicked - it moves your view to that general area and you must click in the section to move your cursor to that point. Why??? 3. In my previous version of WavePad, I simply split at the bookmarks and SAVED ALL. I would have properly named files in the same folder as the source document. However, now... the new options for saving files that you split at the bookmarks are a nightmare: When splitting and saving files in one operation, it offers you the option to select an output location, but it doesn't work and instead saves to your computers MUSIC folder. It will fail to split and save in one operation if you have a bookmark at the beginning of your file, giving a "Failed to save a split. One or more of the split files was not able to be saved" error message. Strange thing is, splitting but opening in the editor works just fine. Apparently, the current version of WavePad apparently doesn't like a bookmark to be placed at the beginning of a file when saving automatically. Really?!?! It didn't have a problem before. One would think this issue would have been fixed in the latest update. I wonder why it hasn't been dealt with. Once the split files are all open in the editor, using SAVE ALL does allow you to actually select the correct folder but then strips all the bookmark names you carefully worked on while editing. The same thing happens when saving files individually. This is a massive downgrade from my previous version and makes my job so much harder. Strangely, if you don't have a bookmark at the beginning of your file and use the split/save automatically operation, it will retain the bookmark name - it just forces you to accept that it will save it in the MUSIC folder and not where you wanted it. What once was a simple operation has become very frustrating. Any help or insight most appreciated. Thanks, Michael
  2. I am reviewing a video documentary to send comments to the video editor. I have bookmarked certain places in the video. Now I would like to send the text of the bookmarks with corresponding timelines to the editor. I do not wish to make a DVD. I need to email my comments. Or export as a soft copy. Urgent please help
  3. I have this one file which I needed to split into uneven tracks. I used the home/bookmarks, then edit/split at cursor, then save as. I now cannot find my work. And it seems that the CD i made has only one track...please help. i am new at this. It downed on me that there is also a project save option. What is the difference between file save as and project save. May be it is because I might not have saved the project that I cannot find my work??? Thank you for taking the time to answer.
  4. I want to use bookmarks to precisely mark the beat for songs when making music videos. If I could import a CSV file to label all the bookmarks, this would save at least a 1/2 hour of time per video. It would be nice if the time could be input in seconds - then there's no need for the program to parse the ":" and I can just do a simple formula using the BPM to convert to the time of each bookmark. I don't care about the bookmark color or name so much when importing the file, so maybe that information can be optional when making a CSV and just have sensible default values for them.
  5. I would like to be able to step through my bookmarks in my audio file, forwards and backwards. In other words Jump to Previous Bookmark and Jump to Next Bookmark. Currently it seems that I have to open the bookmarks window and double click on the desired bookmark. Thank you.
  6. Dear Wavepad Users and Admins, Firstly, I'd like to thank NCH for the existence and production of Wavepad Audio Editor. At this moment, I'm really new to the world of audio recording, editing, mixing, etc., and Wavepad offers me all the features and tools I currently need to develop my audio skills. In order to explain my problem, I'd like to give some brief information. I'm a novice bass player. Recording my practice sessions really benefits me regarding the development of necessary skills that allow me to fully express myself musically. I found out that I really needed a DAW that features the use of 'Bookmarks', because those bookmarks help me to efficiently create an overview of patterns, sounds, etc., and to quickly identify a certain pattern/sound during ánd after a recording. Finding out that Wavepad offered this feature was a lifesafer to me! Even more, I found that Wavepad had much.. much more to offer than just that. So, in a nutshell, I greatly enjoy using Wavepad. It enables me to efficiently record, mark, edit, and mix my music, with the knowledge and skills I currently have. So, I thank you guys for creating this awesome audio editing software!? I'd like to give some information before adressing my problem, so you are hopefully able to understand the problem. The main point of this brief information is this: The main feature a DAW has offer me, is the use of Bookmarks and being able to save audio files according to their assigned Bookmark's Name. Right, now I'll mention the problem I experienced lately. In order to get more familiar with Wavepad's features I decided to give myself an assignment, which demands me to use each feature I found necessary to get familiar with. As an 'assignment' to myself I recorded some random gibberish and inserted a few bookmarks. My goal here is the following: - Save these 'split' files while each file keeps their assigned Bookmark's name (Problem) Below are the steps I take to achieve this during such an assignment: Record something, insert two or three Bookmarks where necessary, and Name them. Save the original file, name it accordingly. Go to the original audio file opened in Wavepad and split them at the bookmarks. (Each individual file now has the name: ProjectName_Bookmarkname_Filetype). In the Menu of 'Splitting Files', I click on 'Save to Folder', select the appropriate folder, set output name, and click on 'Split'. Appearance of Error Message: "One or more of the split files was not able to be saved.'' (read: None of the split files are saved) I looked this problem up at the Wavepad Forum and found a thread in which an expert and guru gave advice to a problem, which was 90% similar to mine. So I tried their advice, and this is what I tried: Record something, insert two or three Bookmarks where necessary, and Name them. Save the original file and name it accordingly. Go to the original audio file opened in Wavepad and split them at the bookmarks. (Each individual file now has the name: ProjectName_Bookmarkname_Filetype). In the Menu of 'Splitting Files', I click on 'Open in Editor'. Close original file. Save first split file with 'Save File As..' and name accordingly. Open the second file in Wavepad and click on 'Save All Files'. Here I click on the first split file so the name appears in the title bar, and add the bookmark's name like: ProjectTitle_Bookmark'sName. From this point on I experience problems. It's hard to remember each split file's bookmark title when I have to split a 60-minute-audiofile into 18 seperate segments. It would be great if Wavepad enables the user to save 'Split Files at Bookmarks' with the 'Save All Files' option, and that each file keeps the Bookmark's name. However, this doesn't seem to be a possibility, as far as I have seen, found, and experienced. My question to you all is, do you have any advice or suggestion for me to get this done - if this is possible of course. I thank you in advance for your reply, because this thread is quite extensive. However, I'd like to explain myself as best to my ability, so to inform you well about my situation and experienced problems with Wavepad.
  7. Hi folks. Is it possible to renumber bookmarks, and if so, how? I have a large file of joined music tracks and I have bookmarked the start of each track for ease of finding it. I have added a track midway into the main file and bookmarked it but the bookmark has automatically numbered itself the next consecutive number from the last bookmark, whereas I want it to be re-numbered to run in line from the previous bookmarked track before it. Not sure if this makes sense so as an example: Main file with each track bookmarked 1,2, 3,4, 5 etc. I have added a track after track 2, and I want the new track to now be bookmark numbered as 3, but it is automatically numbered at 6, running on from the last bookmark entered. (The bookmarks are also named with the rack names but the numbering being out of order is annoying me. Can anyone help please?
  8. I have mastered a 2-1/2 hour DVD of a live multi-media concert. Every DVD I export (burn) has between 2-4 short audio dropouts, never in the same places. The video plays perfectly on the computer.
  9. I am unable to find what to click on to add a Bookmark.
  10. Hello How can I disable the feature of creating automatic Bookmarks, when start recording & when finish recording?
  11. Dear All, I'm new to WavePad and like it for it's flexibility in editing single audio files, as I do a lot of interviews. The bookmark function is also easy to use and very flexible. Can you export the list of bookmarks / regions as a text file? A simple copy/paste from wavepad to a text editor doesn't seem to work, maybe some of you have ideas? what I want to do is simply print out the bookmark list on paper to prepare editing of my interviews. Thanks for your answers! Best, Adrian
  12. Hi, Yesterday I completed a 1 1/2 hour project to which I carefully added bookmarks before exporting to a video file. Today, I reloaded the resultant avi file and added additonal files after it. Now I'm ready to export the final version of this project but I don't see the bookmarks I attached yesterday.. Are they gone? It will be a lot harder to add them now that the avi file portion is seamless. I'm hoping you tell me that they are just hidden and not vanished. It took 7 1/2 hours to export last night and about two hours to reload the avi file today. Yikes! Thanks
