  1. I got a new small project only a handful of clips and after a while vp is still using about 25% cpu. And it's the same after saving and loading the project. According to the small green progress bars all the background work is done. So why isn't the cpu usage coming down? What king of background process vp is still doing? Can I make it stop, so the processor fan can slow down and stop making noise (It's driving me crazy!) -0-0- Yeah, I'm not going to share my project, my internet is much too slow for that. The cpu usage has come down now. But simply changing the length of a vp generated blank black clip, for a few second in the timeline, bumps up the cpu usage to 25% for more than a minute. C'mom it's a blank black clip, it should not take more that a few seconds to generate a new cache file! VP's cpu usage is rather strange to me. I get the feeling VP is constantly recoding the complete sequence in the background after every little change to the time line.
  2. I actually started doing that but vp is just too slow and cumbersome to use for that. I ended up doing it in gimp And there is no lag!
  3. I'm trying to create a black border effect by adding a blank clip to an underlying layer. Very hard to do. So how about the option to add a border to a picture without going into photoshop. Border effect doesn't seem to work for a portrait picture! The effect is shown in the 16:9 format and not as 9:16 at the picture is. -0-0- Never mind, found it. How about the option to delete a topic??
  4. I want to add a blank black clip covering about 30% of the total video area to the right and then overlay the black area with some pictures. Why is something like this so freaking hard to do in videopad? The sliders are hard to move because of all the background recoding, and entering the movement or zoom numbers just confusing, and sometimes the parameter for the motion effect just don't show up. This is a part of videopad in need a lot of improvement i.m.h.o. Simply scale and zoom a picture just sucks at the moment!!! running V8.67 on a 6th gen i7!
  5. Hard to explain. Earlier in the time line I unlinked the audio and video and moved some clips around. I think is was a fade to black transition effect that messed things up for me. But I'm bored with editing for now. VP is running to slow for me to keep trying. Loading the project for another try just takes too long.
  6. Is it me or is vp doing a shit job keeping things together in the timeline? I made a edit and further down in the timeline a small gap appeared even-though I grouped all those clips together. Getting a bit frustrated and feel I'm wasting time! Using version 8.67
  7. I was hoping I overlooked a option. Too bad, but thanks for the reply.
  8. I'm sure I replied to my own topic. Did I just get censored?
  9. Found it, I must have overlooked that option. Fade length works fine but it's not always represented correctly by the line over the waveform.
  10. It the following possible? Show a photograph in a p.i.p and then after a while zoom into a part of the photograph while keeping it in p.i.p I think I need to combine multiple effects (tried motion + zoom) but videopad just get so freaking slow.
  11. Is there an easy way to copy the format (colors, outline, font) of a simple text clip to all the others is use. Doing it by hand is a total drag.
  12. How do I do something as simple as removing an audio fade out effect? Also when I change the fade out time from 10 seconds to 1 second the graphical representation is not updated in the audio wave form. b.t.w. I'm using v8.67
  13. That worked, and is a lot more elegant 😀 Thanks
  14. I want to swell the audio, after doing a little voice over with the audio level at 10% I tried cutting the clip and then use the fade-in effect. But that always goes to 0% audio for a short while. Basically I want the fade in to start at 10% so the transition will be seamless. I solved the problem by cutting a short bit of the end of the 10% audio clip and put it in a separate audio track. This sounds fine but isn't the most elegant solution. Are there better options?
  15. Videopad is rather slow for such a small package and is always recoding things in the background. I think your computer would mostly benefit from some ssd storage. Buy a cheap pci card plus a m.2 sdd and make sure videopad uses that storage for its cache files.
  16. That won't be of use for project related files that can not be opened in videopad, like a text file. Always using relative paths in the videopad project files should not be a hard feature to implement as the backup option already seems to do that. For now I Just copy the files manually to my slower backup drive and edit the project file using notepad if needed.
  17. You're right files that are unused but were imported into videopad are being copied to the backuo. The original folder I used for audio and some photos are not. b.t.w. I use v8.67
  18. I tried that feature but it doesn't copy files I did not end up using. Also The folder structure I used for video, pictures and sounds is not copied. But I can see this is usefull feature. Wish videopad would just always save a project using relative paths, so I can move things around more freely.
  19. I like to store my videopad project in the same folder as the raw video footage. But when I move everything to another and slower drive it stops working because videopad no longer can find the needed files. So I would like to have the option to use relative paths instead of absolute paths. Or an option to change the paths that is a little easier then editing the project file in notepad.
  20. Maybe there is a special bug tracking website, but I don't want to go looking for that so I'm just telling my findings here. First. The problem I had with mixed up audio is gone. So that's a big win for v8.67. Although I am a bit shocked by the amount of temp files videopad generates. Now the issue I'm having with v8.67: Sometimes I can not pick op the bracket in the timeline to make a clip shorter. I's an intermittent problem, but a huge deal but annoying. B.t.w. on a side note: the bracket a a bit small, hard to see and can not be picked up when the "playhead" is positioned in the same location.
  21. I'm trying out the stabilisation (deshaker) function. But the deshaking causes black areas in the video. Now I want to crop the video a little, but the crop effects does not work as expected. I was expecting a crop selection area of at least a slider to set the amount of crop I want. But nonesuch. I seem only to be able to select a certain aspect ratio and not the amount of crop that I want. Say 10% to remove the back areas.
  22. Sometimes I want to move a clip to a different position. But the other tracks are automatically moved as well. Is there a way to temporally disable this auto ripple thing?
  23. That round thingy and stick to change the size of a picture.
  24. That "dial" to change things is super slow and cumbersome to use. Why don't they allow you to drag and drop the corner of an image to make the necessary changes.
  25. I've dealt with that issue a bit myself. Same version. Delete the cached files and that should fix it for a while. But it will come back! But it takes a long time to generate new temporary files. It kinda bothers me how videopad handles things. Constant reprocessing and strange CPU usage!!
