  1. Is there an option to undo (remove) all edits to a portion of the timeline?
  2. There is a backup file. Unfortunately it already has the gaps and they can not be undone, so I will have to start over
  3. I unlocked the audio in two adjacent clips, and Now I want to extend the video of the clip on the left over the clip on the right, while not changing the audio. There is plenty of unused hidden footage for this. It's just not going to happen The video of the second clips keeps moving to the right. Is possible to freeze of fix a video clip on the timeline and not make it move automatically?
  4. Unfortunately I hit save when I went for save as. But I'm quickly losing my faith in VP. Not reliable, trustworthy and professional (like me
  5. Is it possible to reliably do a L or J split in videopad? I'm starting to think it's not! Basically I want the sound of the one clip being used in the other. But I'm getting unexpected results. Gaps and other unwanted movements.
  6. I added and edited a new clip near the binning of a project. And now I see a couple of spontaneous gaps further on in the project I did group together certain clips/spliys in the hope behaviour like this could be avoided, but it happened, again. I'm beginning to think vp isn't as professional as they like us to believe. This will probably take hours to fix. Sigh. I guess I need to tread vp as a linear editing tool, work from left to the right, one clip at the time.
  7. I have a machine operation and I want to visualise the amount of time it takes, but without showing the whole process. But as soon as I cut out parts I end up having two timers and they both start at zero. I would like it to continue timing after the cut. Recoding the full length of the clip with the correct timing and then cutting it up is the only solution I have sound so far.
  8. There is a difference in the behaviour if the clip is at the start of the video sequence or somewhere else, At the start of the sequence I can not move the bracket on the left side to the right and make the clip start later in the time line. It shortens the clip at the right end. Place the clip anywhere else and it works
  9. So every time I make a small change on the time line it results in a minutes long cpu usage bump. When it press ctrl-z it almost immediately goes down again. What could cause this behaviour?? I will upgrade the drivers, but I think I'm using the latest versions. I will also update the harddrive but I doubt it will make much difference.
  10. Thanks but that's not what I want. I want to show the correct timing despite hacking out a piece in the middle or using a speed-up effect.
  11. I was not able to drag the start point to the right, it only made the stopwatch clip shorter at the end. I had to pickup the whole clip and move it to the right. After that I could drag the staring position to the position I wanted. This behaviour was a bit odd.
  12. Got it fixed. Deleted the clip from the time line and the media bin and imported it again. Note: after deleting the clip from the time line the "tick" in the media bin was still there.
  13. I got a clip, and unlinked the audio, and now I want change the video length by dragging it to the left. Only the video but every time it also picks up the audio. This it's driving me crazy! Note: when dragging to the left it adds a new split and extends both audio and video. Also I can not pick up the bracket and drag the cut to the right. Must be some sort of bug.
  14. By dragging the bracket on the left to the right I want to change the start position of a timer effect to about 12 second after the start of the sequence. But When I do this just cut of a piece at the end of track 2 and keeps the same start position. How do I disable this auto ripple effect?
  15. I upgraded video pad to the latest version and that did not make any difference. It did change the colour of the wave file representation in the time line. Most are green some are blue, any idea why??? Tomorrow I'll try upgrading some drivers. But the computer works fine and was reinstalled using latest drivers, maybe 4 moths ago. (I use win 10)
  16. To illustrate a certain process I would like to add a stopwatch text overlay effect. So far so goo and it works fine. But to shorten the video I would like to cut out certain parts. But then I end up with 2 stopwatch animation and the are both starting at 0 again. And I would like to keep the stopwatch (time) animation from before I split the clip. Ideas? I suspect what I want is not possible so I recoded the clip plus the timer effect and cut up that video. But It might be a good idea for a future feature https://content.invisioncic.com/r33241/emoticons/default_smile.png
  17. Thank. I get the feeling something might be wrong with my setup. How about placing a photo on a separate track (default length of 3 seconds) on my pc that results in a 2:20 spike of almost 50% cpu usage. Double the photo play length in the time line and its a similar cpu usage spike. VP is still usable, no big problems, but it is STRANGE.
  18. You could add the ffmpeg libraries to audacity and use that, or use the vlc to convert the stream. Plenty of free options
  19. I store my project on an old hard dive, could this be the issue? I would think not since the extension of a blank video clip is not a particular disk I/O intensive task. But I have ordered a M.2 and a pci card to add an extra SSD drive, it might help. Does VP have some sort of change log on their website? I hate to upgrade just for the sake of upgrading. Although, last update did fix my sound issue in he cached files
  20. I got a Geforce GT 740, not the best, but it's more then good enough for video editing. I'm sure a better video card would not make VP work any faster. It would be nice if VP would start supporting the NVENC hardware. I do have a cheap M.2 SSD card on order that should make my videopad cache a little faster and allow me to add an extra normal SSD card for my projects
  21. With VP idling at almost 0 CPU use I changed the length of a VP created blank black clip about 10 seconds in the timeline. It took3:20 (timed it) of about 22-24% cpu use over all 8 logical cores. That is rather extreme in my book. Does VP perhaps have an issue with hyperthreading? -0-0- After disabling hyperthreading and loading the same project, and than waiting minutes till the VP cpu usage settled down. God know what it was doing all that time using about 50% cpu. This time took about 2:50 to extend the same blank black clip a similar length of time. Strange thing, the cpu usage was 44-50% this time. I'll leave hyperthreading off for now maybe I will notice a difference. But 1 test doesn't tell you much. (The green green cache processing bar is finished a second or so.
  22. VP is very capable inho but it's too bad it is somewhat lagging in my 6th gen i7. Scaling and dragging a picture to a corner become rather impossible to do.
  23. Slitting a blank clip in 3 parts and then dropping a portrait picture on top of it to position it to the right is a cool trick. To bad there's no black background anymore when I scale down the picture to create a back border. (the border effect does not work for portrait pictures) So it removes the blank black clip from the timeline and add the slipscreen effect to my picture. I should have added the picture in a separate track
  24. I deleted some clips and photographs in window. And now every time I open my VP project it tries to resolve the missing files. How do I stop this behaviour? It's rather annoying.
  25. CPU use is not going up with new project and using only a blank VP generated black clip. But when I do the same thing within an existing project with some stuff in the time line, the cpu usage goes up to 25% for minutes, after changing the play length to that VP generated blank black clip. Make you wonder what the hell VP is doing and why?
