Hmm, is this unique to that file/source only? If automatic trim was checked under Options> Audio, that could be the cause of it. Silence from start and end is automatically trimmed. You can try turning that off.

That is pretty much right. Just remember that the program will always recognize files at 100 speed by default when loaded regardless of its original/past quality. You may want to save a copy of either the original file or the project file for sensitive projects.

Hi, the file will save at whatever speed was set and when reloading the same file, that speed will be '100' and you'd need to decrease it to 96 to get the original speed back. Simply put, what ever the speed of the file loaded into WavePad is, that becomes default.

Have you made sure to mute the track and only activate the record button on the intended track as per attached?

Are these original discs? That could be an issue or the CD you are ripping from might be a copy protected audio CD; check if this is the case. There is no solution for such CDs as these.

This is a Windows thing basically but you can always set this to open by default to any other program by right-click on the file in question, Open With> Choose the program you want and check 'Open by default''

You need to click on Set Hotkey and then press any button on your keyboard you wish to us as the hotkey. Do note that the hotkey will be used system-wide so best to choose the key carefully.
