  1. Your first link above was an MTS, and it loaded normally in 13.57. Please upload another file that does not.
  2. Tested in both 13.28 and 13.57, the export is identical to the source... Source... Export... Check this out for video updates.
  3. Shouldn't happen, of course. Doesn't here. Crashing can have several causes. Look at this. You haven't shared the PC's specs - CPU/GPU/RAM - but they can certainly impact performance. Video editing is resource intensive. Test the current VP 64-bit version. Prior to starting a new project, go to OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. Share a project that tends to crash. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  4. No fraud. You should never have to repurchase. Go here if there's a problem. VP is offered via outright purchase or subscription. Many other NLEs are subscription only. Purchased releases don't expire. Updates - often subtle UI and feature changes and minor fixes - are free during for the six-month period. Try them out. But there's no mandate to update if your version is doing the job. The latest release can always be test driven for a full-featured trial period, before some features are disabled. In no way should your purchased version "go to pot." But the program, and your PC, do change over the years - sometimes for good - sometimes not.😉
  5. What VP version? Look at the bottom-left corner of the window. There are numerous settings that can affect this. To track it down let's take a look at a clip or two.. Upload the file to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."
  6. Check in from time to time on pricing - offers come and go. When the unlicensed trial expires, certain features may be disabled - likely similar to the free version - but the # won't change. Just overinstall your registered copy, or any release within the grace period, and your license should be valid.
  7. Similar to your "interesting thing" comment, but with a DVD Movie file (not a video file), create the captions, export them as an SRT file, then choose No Show and burn the disc. Open the DVD's VOB file in the free MPC-BE, right-click on the screen and choose SUBTITLES. Click the Load Ext Subtitles menu and import the SRT. Now the captions can be toggled on or off while playing the DVD... subs.mp4 File a suggestion that switchable CC be made possible in DVD Movie file production.
  8. Any release within the six-month purchase grace period will be licensed. Get them here. Ignore any virus warnings. There's no mandate to upgrade and uninstalling isn't necessary; just overinstall. Maintenance releases may have internal improvements or slight differences in the UI and features. You can always check out the latest, even if not licensed. It should be full-featured for a trial period. Download from the Wavepad home page. Retain your registration.
  9. When exporting as a DVD Movie, click the Menu button and test the various options... If still no joy, try Express Burn, which has more extensive authoring capabilities.

  11. There's no planned obsolescence built into Videopad. Occasional crashes can be due to numerous causes such as project errors or, perhaps, out of date video drivers. See this page. Prior to starting a new project, go to OPTIONS | DISC tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. For protection Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the caret to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. Upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Go here to download any release. Ignore virus warnings. Versions that are within the free upgrade window should install the same as the license that you purchased. No new cost. No need to uninstall - just overinstall. Takes only seconds. There's no mandate to update. Newer releases can always be test driven, The VP home page has the latest, both the 'pro' that will be full-featured for a trial period and a limited free version. The link there may be to the 32- or the 64-bit release. To ensure that you're getting the 64-bit, use this link. It's less prone to problems with complex, lengthy or very high-def projects as it takes better advantage of Windows memory. If you run into issues, please post specifics in a new thread. For licensing problems, go here.
  12. Follow through with the PC's stats, and share your project. We'll check it out. 13. Your problem can be resolved if you have a little patience. What is the version #? Look at the bottom-left of the window. Try this release and report your results. If no success please share your PC's stats and project as instructed above.
  14. Try this release. If it doesn't solve the problem, please report back with your PC's specs: CPU/GPU/RAM.
  15. Haven't seen it reported. Suspect the virus checker ... perhaps. Windows Defender has occasionally deleted downloads here, but never an installed pgm.
  16. Did you check out the tutorials? Explain more fully what you mean by "make into one." When videos on the timeline are exported, they become a SINGLE clip that can be played in a viewer. Record_2023_08_02_13_20_23_467.mp4
  17. Place one video after the other on track 1 (Sequence 1) and Export. The two videos will play in the resulting file just as you viewed them in the preview window. If by "merge" you meant something else, please describe precisely what you want to do.
  18. Check out the tutorials. Normally, two videos would be side-by=side in the same sequence. Click the EXPORT tab or button and export as a video file. However, if each is in a separate sequence, click that tab to display Sequence 1. Then click the SequenceS tab above the bin and drag Sequence 2 to the end of Sequence one. Or right-click on Sequence 2 to see placement options. Export.

  20. Install this release and see if it does better for you. If mp4 export isn't available after the trial period try AVI. Share the project, complete with blur, and someone will check it out. 21. If you visit forums for other editors you will see that issues are not exclusive to Videopad. In this case it's tough to single out a specific cause, except those mentioned above. In general, keep things as simple as possible. It's a learning curve.😉 In most cases there's no need for multiple sequences. Load only the files that will be used - saves time. To add a clip, import it into the bin, click on it to preview, drag the cursor to the IN point and press the SET IN button. Drag to the OUT point and press the SET OUT button. Then either drag the clip to the timeline or click the caret in the ADD button (under the preview window) to place it where desired. Or drag the untrimmed clip to the timeline, then trim it there. As you build a project, check it for errors from time to time by exporting the existing portion. Then you can spot and fix problems before they become a crisis. And of course, Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the caret to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. A segment can be exported by dragging the middle of the cursor right or left, to create a blue selection area. Right-click that area and Export Selected Region. For complex projects, use the 64-bit version of VP. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. For tutorials, there's a Tutorials link at the top of this forum. Good luck!
  22. NCH isn't a greedy, disreputable company - established in about 1994. If they were, it would have gone out of business years ago. Your ire is understandable, as it's apparent that you put much effort into the project. But it doesn't appear that VP is at fault. Analyzing the project, the suspicion is that the Video - 1 - 20181211-131010.avi has distortion or irregularities that may have corrupted the profile. That file has considerable artifacts when seen in a media viewer. And it is PAL (25fps) standard, mixed in with your other mp4s. Normally that's not a problem. Further confusion might be caused by the overrun at the end of the profile. That can be trimmed by scrolling to the end video, clicking the top of the cursor and then the ] icon. (Revised project submitted privately.)
  23. Thanks for sharing. You are under a false impression. While NCH may track posts, this is a peer-user forum - folks just like your helping others. Not to say that there isn't an occasional glitch, but thousands have successfully used VP since 2008. Your issue may be software, but we'll see. Checking it out now and, in due time, will report back right here.
  24. Well, that's a shame. Frustration is understandable. Have you installed this version? What are your PC's specs: CPU/GPU/RAM? In most cases, problems like yours can be overcome if you take the time. Share your project and we'll analyze it, and suggest a fix.
