Bit Rate Problem

Hi everyone

I'm using V11.20 paid licence.  My source material is 4K approx 27000kbps @ 30fps using H265. When I export I always use mp4 H265 @4K.  Have used this setting for a few years using the 32BIT version and always come very close to the source bitrate by selecting 30000kbps at the export screen.  However, with this new version the bitrate is really low.  I have created 2 videos and both come out at around 1400kbps and are noticeably poor quality.  Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can get the crisp high quality I used to get with the 32BIT version?

Thanks in advance

Please share one of your videos and someone will check it out.  Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum.  When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."

Thanks for sharing.  Tests on the first minute of your project confirm that H265 exported bitrates are not what they were earlier.

In 11.26 (64-bit), 30000 failed.  High quality resulted in 6394Kb/s.   In the 32-bit version 30000 succeeded, at 677Kb/s

In versions 8.45 and 10.21 the result at 30000 was 14.1Mb/s

This info has been forwarded to the developers.

Suggestions for now...

*Use H264;  it's faster than H265 and results look fine.

*Try the MPEG4 encoder, which produces comparable results to H265 (IMO) and takes advantage of fast GPU encoding.

Here are comparative results on the one-minute excerpt from your project...

    H265 @ 30000   102Mb file size;  14.1Mb/s bitrate  (using version 10.21)

    MPEG4 @ average quality -  108Mb file size;  15Mb/s bitrate  (using version 11.22)

*Revert to this older version when H265 bitrates were high.

No time frame for the fix, but the issue is being pursued, so stay tuned to this thread for future developments.
