How to put border on a PiP

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have a PiP, and would like to put a thin white border around it. I've tried using the Border FX, but it puts it around the whole video, not the PiP. I've also put a blank behind the PiP, but it refuses to show.

Thank you,

Suz

Tested again successfully.

Add the background and insert images to the timeline, with the insert on a higher track.

Apply the border effect to the insert image track ONLY.  Then apply SCALE and POSITION effects to that track as desired.

Use the current version.  For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date.  After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest.  Retain your old install file and registration info.

Hi

  • Place the background clip on Video Track 1
  • Place the PIP clip/image in Video Track 2 above the background clip
  • Add the Border effect to the PIP clip/image
  • Add the Scale effect to the PIP clip/image
  • Add the Position effect to the PIP image

Result....

Note that the border remains the same relative width.
