Improvement suggestions and feedback

First, I'd like to say a big thank you for a great software! It's far superior to most out there! I use almost all features for my hobby making homemade videos and have worked with video editing both as a hobby and also in my professional life.
That said, I wanted to suggest a few things that I feel would get your software a bit closer to perfection, so here they are:

1) The timeline and working on clips can be time consuming and I find that it would be so helpful if there was an extra button next to "previous frame/next frame" called e.g. "go back 5 secs" or "go forward 5 secs" (or 3 secs or both). Sure, I can sit and hold the frame buttons in for X-amount of time, but having that extra button would save the user a lot of time.

2) This feature also applies to the "subtitle" window and when you're in the "Maximize" window.

3) Adding audio to the back/forth frame buttons would be helpful. It helps when you want to add effects and not sure when between a few frames. (I know the audio track can show you, but you have to zoom in really close and it's a pain going back and forth for just a few frames)

4) Is there a way to incorporate your software, WavePad, into VideoPad maybe as an add-on? I use your audio effects/features a LOT, but sometimes there are limitations so it would be great having an additional add-on in VideoPad that would make your video much better. It doesn't have to be the full software feature, but just the most common features would make a world of a difference. In fact, this goes for almost ALL of your software that can be used in VideoPad as add-ons.

5) Is there a way to add additional sound effects/video effects? If you have to charge for it, understood, but instead of having to import them from another site, then convert them (again, maybe have prism as an add-on as well?) and then import them, it would be amazing having everything at your fingertips in VideoPad.

6) Move "loop" button to the end of the line. It's a very helpful button, but it's out of place when you're editing frame by frame or playing/pausing. This also applies in the subtitle window and in "maximize" window mode.

7) Move the "split track/start track/end track" pop up button whilst navigating on the timeline. When you are navigating on the timeline it pops up partially on the timeline and is in the way when you navigate the timeline. It is a crucial and important shortcut that should be enhanced, but needs to be placed at a better spot.

😎 I volunteer teach two other languages, which means that I use the subtitle feature a lot. I would LOVE to see a software from you like SubtitlePad (LOL) come out because your subtitle feature in VideoPad is incredible, but undeniably limited. I currently use Aegissub and Subtitle Edit, but they aren't as good as I think yours could be.

9) I also use homemade videos in other languages and currently online there are websites such as Sonix or Happy Scribe and software such as Wondershare that provides the option to upload a video, specify the language and it will do the translation for you. However, it is limited even if you subscribe and pay monthly, it limits your uploads, which end up limiting the user. Not sure if you guys have anything similar (TranslationPad LOL) with languages more than just English, Spanish, French? (I teach uncommon languages such as Thai, Danish, Korean and Hindi at times)

I thank you for your time and hope any of these will be considered.

Thank you again for an amazing software!

PS: I tried submitting a 'contact us' message to you guys, but even when you put in a few lines it takes you to a 'cannot display page' broken link page. Just an FYI.

<Shift-right/left arrow> keys jumps the scrubber from clip edge to edge - duplicating the buttons under preview. jump.jpg

Adding audio to the back/forth frame buttons would be helpful.

Click the AUDIO tab, then in the audio track.  Click the SCRUBBING button on the toolbar.  The left/right arrow keys can be used in lieu of the preview buttons.

Is there a way to incorporate your software, WavePad, into VideoPad?

Right-click on the audio track.  EDIT IN WAVEPAD is often - but not always - available.  Click it to launch WP, make changes, then click the X  and SAVE to exit.  The changes will automatically be applied to the Videopad clip, and the edited clip will appear under the AUDIO tab.  Press <ctrl-Z> several times to revert to the unedited audio.

Is there a way to add additional sound effects/video effects?

Click the AUDIO tab, then the ADD STOCK SOUND button.  Many free sounds and music can be downloaded.  (But not video effects.)

Move the "split track/start track/end track" pop up button whilst navigating on the timeline.

Though the version # may be the same, each time VP is installed there are subtle UI differences.  One of those is the placement of the pop up, which may appear as vertical or horizontal.  Reinstall repeatedly until it does.  This is my preference...   image.png

Thank you for your reply. I appreciate your responses, but I'm afraid that I already knew all of the above. I was merely making improvement suggestions.

1) The buttons you reference are "clips" jumps and if you only have one clip in your video, it's not much help.

2) WavePad is only for trial and once it's used up it will only let you use it if you pay for it. I was suggesting an add-on with only a few more features even if you have to pay a small amount for this add on it would be helpful as you wouldn't need the full version.

3) I will try to re-install software repeatedly and get the bug to go away.

4) I'm still getting the same error message and tried to submit the same message from a different computer outside my home network and same result. You may want to try yourself?

Hi

1)  Have you tried simply using the time line to move the cursor line backwards or forwards a specific amount. Its marked in seconds and you can simply click on the value of the subtracted (or added) time value which will move the cursor to that point. If you want you could also do the calculation manually and enter the value obtained into the time box under the sequence preview window. This will also move the cursor the position desired.

4) On the top toolbar click the option Suite. This opens a toolbar with the various NCH video add-ons. Select the one you want and if you don't have it already installed VP will open it from the NCH site. If it says it has expired (as you installed the demo version) then simply rerun the exe file for that particular add on. The free version should load OK though.
