  1. you may have started out with recording it digitally too low only you'd know what you did. I understand they were too soft on tape, I'm referring to how high was the setting on the line-in when you recorded it digitally? if that was too low, it'll be harder to fix. because you'll have alot over overhead noise to scrub and I'm saying you may have to re-record it first before getting it as clean as you want. you may want to massage as you record then scrub again after. by that I mean, find a software that will improve the clarity a bit between the source tape and the recording device, but don't make the recording so high/loud, that the sound starts clipping. so, once it's recorded, then go back and try to remove what you can. but I don't see wavepad doing that for you...sorry
  2. yeah, NERO is still smoking somethin' from way back. I got those screwed up messages too It probably is buried in the header that you can't see, some kind of code that nch uses that nero misinterprets you'll need Express Burn try it, it's free to try...
  3. I noticed when doing a pitch change a while back, it gave me a very annoying whine. I couldn't get rid of it I'd look to see there may be the original recording there that you forgot about. other than that, wavepad is pretty basic and not really what I'd call an audio scrubber. you just may be stuck with what you have
  4. I have no idea what nch would have on that, I don't think they do. you need some kind of special time-code software just do a search.... good luck
  5. nope, you need a developer or compiler or something. I'm stretching here for the right word.... You probably need a programmer, who knows how to compile/integrate the software I really don't know where to go with that!!!! start searching.... http://www.dogpile.com/ good luck
  6. ok fine have it your way but I doubt they'll do anything, it took them a cpl years to redo the shopping cart so it would accept my cc it was like trying to move a mule....
  7. DUDE!!!!! lol.....you really need to brush up on using a search engine; http://www.dogpile.com/ http://www.trybestsoft.com/dpx-timecode-ed...ftware-579.html :-0
  8. your first mistake is plugging in to the microphone you need to use a line-in jack if you don't have one, you have two options get a USB converter to makeup for the jack you don't have, [ such as M-Transit ]http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Transit/ or play with the input on the mic input, [ in recording devices ] but I don't see that working out too well, because you'll have mixed impedences that won't like each other, you'll get a crappy sound at best.
  9. you mean you wish to add this to windows on the install disc?
  10. It is FREE it is FREE, to try....
  11. Is there an area where all the components [ plugins ] for wavepad can be downloaded? Currently one is only aware of a deficiency when trying to do an operation when suddenly WavePad connects to the net to retrieve that which should have been included upon paying for the product! I can't seem to find any nor do I know how many there are. It would be nice to have. Perhaps someone has cataloged them.
  12. the answer may lay under tool and wavepad options where you CHOOSE or NAME the working file for wavepad, I was getting weird anomalies and also got the same message directing me to microslut I downloded the fix and renamed the working file to another location, not the default now all is well. no more anomalies and the help file now pops but I still can't record with any software....
  13. you'll need timecode software the film industry specializes in that I've never had the need for it so I don't know who would carry that happy surfing....
  14. well, I just tried it on mine and express burn popped and the current file that was open in wavepad was there in express burn ready to go....so, I don't know what's wrong with yours you may want to reboot wavepad and start again
  15. "converting" ? ummmm....when ever I'm trying to save a file after editing it I clik file.....[ because cliking the save button, will save it as the default that I don't want ] then go to "save file as" then I CHOOSE mp3 AND I type a new name to the file [ this preserves the original file, if needed ] after I verify the file is fine and I no longer need the original whether it is mp3 or wav, then I delete it. hope that helps...
  16. it was the "working" file in the "c" drive.... I named a new file in the "d" drive and retried the operation and VOILA it works tho, I still can't RECORD off the soundcard....with ANYTHING, no software works I can't record off a microphone either! I looked all over the properties in the sound and audio device section in vista for clues I changed a few things around and tested them and then put them back to the original setting and I still can figure out what is wrong even the onboard recorder that comes with vista won't record anything!
  17. I suppose that an, oem xp pro, is the way to go.... no easy roll back to xp from vista just advertising folly to hook folks [ seen the roll back comment on tigerdirect flyer ]
  18. you could have some file corruption I'd run ad-ware and defrag the drive then reboot then try to install what operating system r u using?
  19. You won't be able to do much. Here's my story, mine was originally installed on my laptop which was hooked up to the net but when visiting a friend with laptop in hand I tried to show someone how great the software was [ on XP ] I couldn't process an operation because it was trying to connect to the internet for a temp plugin [ these plugins don't seem to stay ] and now I know why it is such a small file size on the download....it connects automatically to the net for the" as needed " plugins ] I was not pleased at all. I figured I paid for the software, it should come with everything I need on it and not have to connect to the net, except to get needed/wanted updates not typical plugins wavepad falls short on this feature...:-(
  20. I'm pretty sure that as a VISTA owner, that you [ WE ] have "the right" to roll back to XP I'd contact microslut and ask them, how does one do that. [ I'm considering doing that myself ] sorry I don't have a better answer ============ ScottM thanks for that tip!!!!!! [ my levels were ok ] I still can't record anything off the net [ using the soundcard ] with any software that worked fine on XP, while using the SAME software on VISTA
  21. ok here's the deal I'm editing file "A", under "effects", like automatic gain control and after a cpl minutes of processing, the file that is processed is not only a completely different file say file "z" , but also the speed changed on it!!!!!! and it is playing at chipmunk speed, so I must reduce it by 50% before I can Identify the file, which is NOT the file I was working on!!!! I had no other files open or minimized while doing this normally simple operation to the file. I've done this operation hundreds of times without any weirdness like this at all. The only thing that wavepad seemed to do on a semi-regular basis, was freeze up during saving a file where I had to close wavepad and then reboot it and obviously reopen the file I was working on. there are two other oddities that may be related...one was an unusual amount of HD space was being used up [ this is recent too ] and I also got an odd warning about "unauthorized to use a temp file" on the screen that I though was odd. then later [ I figure wavepad uses a temp file in case you wish to "undo" ] So there must be something screwy with the tempfile messing with the HD size [ a 15mb file was using up 4G of HD space!!! ] So, I deleted wavepad and reinstalled it and it still screws things up. I defragged the drive etc and rebooted about the only thing I CAN do, it to delete advertisements off of radio programs but using the automatic gain control and the dynamic range compression, which I found quite useful, can no longer be used....:-( I may have to SAVE all my stuff and do a recovery[ reinstall factory settings ] back to new condition :-( ....I hate vista....
  22. you may want to try to add some extra time to the end prior to the speed change hope that works for ya...:-)
  23. ok, I'll bite... If you purchased this, it's the same info you used at purchasing time the easiest thing to do , is to copy and paste that info at purchase time into notepad or other text program, so it can be copied as needed later on...like right now and if you didn't purchase it, you can't register...
