  1. I'd try compressing the track first...because just lowering the volume may not do the trick quite the same. I also found that auto gain control sometimes would reduce the volume in certain instances. So 1st I'd make a copy of the file, then work off the copy and save the original, because you may find some other software at another time to fix what wavepad may not be able to. Anyways that's always the best thing to do, work off a copy.

    Removing Hiss

I never really had much luck with wavepad noise reduction. About the only thing I can suggest would be to highlight the sections where it's just the baby crying then choose reduce volume by 99% I don't think there is anyway to completely separate the baby from the speaker. I use magix for other noise reduction/enhancements Wavepad, I usually edit out advertisements and use the auto gain and compression that do a pretty decent job I don't think there is a software that will do it all for any one person.

    WavePad

I don't like the dark colors, there should be a color/skin combo option It does cut a track where you mark it, better that the old 3.05 did. [ I had to go in and verify the cut, and most times I had to redo it ] not so with the newer version
  4. I'd love to know as well....
  5. Dynamic range compressoer does just that, it compresses the range. Personally, I find the huge 90db range of somethings to be quite annoying, the whole thing where you turn up the volume to hear the soft parts...then all of a sudden it blasts you out of your chair, that may be fun for some, but quite annoying to me, so I'll use the range compressor to make it closer to what you'd hear off the radio.
  6. I'm lost too!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have no idea what u r talking about. goodluck
  7. you know, when I go thru the trouble of telling it to make 5 copies, the last thing I need to do is to clik ok again after the 1st disk got burned. it should just be in waiting mode for the drawer to close then verify the disc to burn! THAT'S IT!!!! Enough with the added cliking already....sheesh!!!!!!!!!!!!! STOP THE REDUNDANCY..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...PLEASE..!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. sorry to hear that. that was my only make-do quick fix...
  9. I'd make a duplicate copy of the recording, and use that to experiment with, then; then reduce the volume to 25% Then copy the part you want amplified to a file by itself highlight part of the file like 33% of it raise the volume 130% then highlight and raise the volume on the next third to 140% then highlight and raise the volume on the last third to 190% those are just suggested percentages try it, play it back, and readjust as necessary til it sounds right then copy and paste into the final file
  10. you may want to try this; go to ; tools options audio processing clik "use this specified folder" then name your own folder and drive [ example - D:\audio\wavepad-working-folder ] clik ok ---------- that seems to fix a lot of things. don't ask why...
  11. go to ; tools options audio processing clik "use this specified folder" then name your own folder and drive [ example - D:\audio\wavepad-working-folder ] clik ok
  12. The 1st thing I'd do is to re-name your working directory. It seems to be the center of all the ills from the boogeyman with this software. Why? I don't know, just try it and let me know what happened. go to ; tools options audio processing clik "use this specified folder" then name your own folder and drive [ example - D:\audio\wavepad-working-folder ] clik ok
  13. Well, it looks like you've stumbled onto a fix, but I don't know how long that will work for. if it comes back, try my solution in the post above.
  14. This happens over and over and over and over again. I have answered this problem, THE MOST, of all the questions that I've answered. go to ; tools options audio processing clik "use this specified folder" then name your own folder and drive [ example - D:\audio\wavepad-working-folder ] clik ok
  15. " do you think this would help?" WHAT is this? "where would i find it? " I can't figure out what you're looking for now! Sorry, you're not very clear about what you want. Could you please re-phrase ?
  16. How about [ delete ] then reinstall?! And have you renamed your working folder yet? My wavepad worked fine for a while, then it started acting up, til I renamed the working folder, now the problems stopped! Why? I don't know, all I know is they stopped.
  17. You may want to try the dynamic range compressor, just to see what it can do.
  18. There is a thread on weirdness/anomalies nobody reads tho. try this; go to ; tools options audio processing clik "use this specified folder" then name your own folder and drive [ example - D:\audio\wavepad-working-folder ] clik ok
  19. ok , I just looked again, wavepad does not give record pad as a bundle, BUT recordpad does have wavepad as a bundle!!! So you can get what you want. Be sure to rename the working folder [ in wavepad ] as a preventative to anomalies; go to ; tools options audio processing clik "use this specified folder" then name your own folder and drive [ example - D:\audio\wavepad-working-folder ] clik ok
  20. Mine developed glitches too. [ I can't believe you deleted your setup file !!! ] Anyways...try this to fix your glitches; go to ; tools options audio processing clik "use this specified folder" then name your own folder and drive [ example - D:\audio\wavepad-working-folder ] clik ok That should stop the weirdness.
  21. Your file size [ theoretically ] can only grow if you change something. You neglected to mention what the bit-rate and frequency were on the original as comparedto the saved versions. I'll bvet if you check, you'll find a difference, hence the increase in file size. In order to save properly and not get "fixed" by the default setting, first fix the frequency, there is an option under file, convert sample rate, once you change that, then choose save file as, then choose bit rate.
  22. Yes. You have a typical anomalie, it should be easy to fix. go to tools options audio processing clik "use this specified folder" then name your own folder and drive [ example - D:\audio\wavepad-working-folder ] clik ok DON'T ASK WHY IT WORKS, I have no idea. I was having the same problem, and that is what I did to fix it. That's all I can tell you.
  23. I was going to say NO! But then I went and had a look, and as usual, you never know what dumb things they will do. I no longer see the page with the variety of combinations of offers, they've boxed people in to a corner again, trying to pidgeonhole folks. It can be very frustrating. Maybe they simply moved the page, but I don't see it. Try emailing them what you wish to purchase and see what that gets you. Sorry, that's the best I can offer up.
