  1. I'm not sure exactly what that is! But first make note of the time that pause happens, then copy the entire file....using the copied file, go to the timeframe you noted, highlight the area where the pause is [ amplify it if needed to see better using the + sign on lower right ], and delete most of pause, play it back from a spot just prior to the pause to see how it plays back, if it's ok, then save the file, if not, either add to or delete more time so it feels right to you!!!

Just do a search, it'll popup they make several diff kinds of audio software but only one that you would use. I know some engineers use some sophisticated equip but we're talking moocho dinero Probably the fbi and cia have stuff like that but it's not store bought equip for the most part. Recording with a mic outside is most challenging , and why most folks use a foam cover to at least kill the wind noise, but then other factors unexpectedly come into play just when you really don't want anything else there. I would try the equalizer on magix one band at a time til you feel it out.
  3. So, you have an mpeg clip and you tried opening it in wavepad but it asks about the sound player device you have? I took a quick look, but the only options I see are under TOOLS perhaps that will do it for you. But honestly, I never got or heard of an error message like that before. kw
  4. I don't know of one [ for sure ] that will do it that's a very difficult process. I think first you'd have to isolate the frequency band that the jet noise is in and reduce it as much as you can, by using a 15 band equalizer. The n do the same thing to the voices, find the frequency they are in and amplify that band. Always practice with a copy of the file so you always have the original to fall back on. There are 2 other programs I'm familiar with, MAGIX audio restoration [ just search for MAGIX audio ] It has a variety of software manipulations you can apply including an equalizer I use it mainly to sharpen up dull or muffled audio, I never tried isolation a frequency using it tho. I also bought a program called soundsoap, but I haven't installed it yet, so I have no real advice on that one.
  5. You may want to rename your set up exe of wavepad [ 3.05 ] in interests of not confusing it with the newer version as they do not name their builds and that way you'll know which is which if you decide to go back . Then download the free version, 4.24 , and try that one. You may have exceeded it's capacity, but I'm not sure Another thing would be to use a different WORKING file I know there WAS an issue with it before that cleared up after renaming the working file. I hope this helps kw
  6. Can someone please delete this SPAM by donjoao please!!! kw
  7. You can clik on window and change the way the screen looks to you so you can eyeball it easier, but that's it. If someone has a cute trick, I don't know about it, and that's entirely possible. The other option would be to forego that drama and let that take place in the burner via the software. Providing it does a decent job, all you have to do now is to rip the last equalized burn!!!! on EXPRESS BURN, clik THIS DISC, then choose level, it won't take long to test it out!!!
  8. The only way I knew, was to open them all up [ that'll fit on one disc ] in wavepad, then look at the file and their levels, and add volume to the ones that need it. You can play each file and jump around in each file to compare, then add as needed. If there's an auto option for that, I never used it. That's the best I can do for you.... kw
  9. You might just want to to cut out the offending part and add a section of silence! I use another audio pgm to do other things like filtering. I didn't have much luck with wavepad doing what I needed doing as far as filtering went. There's a specialty audio scrubber called audio soap, but my copy got lost in a sewage back up before I could even install the copy so I can't tell you how effective it is. That's the best I can do for you...hope it helps. [ p.s. loved the transition cuts, they were great. the editor did a nice job!!!!! Praise the Lord!!!! ]
  10. I don't think I ever used that option, but if you have. 4.22, get the new one 4.24 it has been fixed. I hope your problem is fixed too. try it!
  11. You'll have to email customer service [ http://www.nch.com.au/support/index.html ] be patient. I sent many emails trying to find out why back then my CC would not go thru. The only fix was trying to buy again and it finally took, never found out why.
  12. You really don't need switch for that!!! You may just need to reload 3.05 [ my first one too ] Then make sure you have all the converter files for wavepad [ don't ask why they don't include it....I have no idea why ] I don't have a link for that, but if I stumble upon them [ it takes a bit of searching to find some stuff ] I'll post a link for you!!!! Could you email me that version? I lost mine to a sewage backup and would love a copy!!!!! To email, just clik name/profile , on left side scroll down...
  13. Yeah to be able to minimize is good. My work around was to have my other stuff opened and minimized, then when it was working, I'd just clik the minimized new one which would just overlay on top of wavepad... I'm still looking for color options ans an option for the orange bar that keeps it all centered. It's a good idea, but not always useful, a toolbar switch would make it perfect!!!! [ I use it on a laptop with a 12 in screen ]

Concerning BUILD numbers The BEST THING to do til it gets fixed if ever, is to r clik and add the build as you rename the file. You can also just name a folder and put it in there, but that's not as good as renaming the file and adding the build number then burn a copy too!!!! I've had stuff go wrong that I never thought would happen.

What in the world is going on with that? Seems like you'd be able to protect that!!! There's a site called GRC.com where the owner got attacked by some kid called WICKED, so he set up all kinds of protections to stop the attacks. It seems that the kid just heard this guy was ""bad"" from someone and decided to attack him. The attacks stopped after a meeting of the minds, but he learned some good techniques in the process. You may want to check out the site, which offers some free software, and the story may still be posted there for you to read in its entirety. [[ sorry cut, I re-read your comment and mine, and I can't figure I what the heck I was referring to in my post to you....musta been a brain spasm on my part ]]

    WavePad

Well praise The Lord they did fix some of the booboos!!!! It no longer amplifies a cut section and I can amplify a section to work on without it freezing up on me. But I still HATE that floating orange bar and the flicker I get off of it. I'd like to see that as an option, like a button to clik to activate or deactivate that feature because most times I find it in the way of what I'm trying to do and to clik it off would be perfect... ~~~~~~~~~~~~ OK....I just found the classic color scheme option, which gave me the colors I love!!!!!! HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    WavePad

I'm gonna try 4.24 .....my last copy of 3.05 fell victim to a sewage backup it also got my backup hdd!!!! I'm not having a good year at all.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ok, well the first thing I noticed is, I now have screen flicker with the orange bar that floats in the center!! I don't like the floating feature either. I can see some usefullness in it, but for my purposes it is more annoying than it is useful. [ HOW ABOUT AN ON OFF FEATURE SWITCH FOR THAT TOO ] Everytime I tap to the right side of center to jump ahead, it just stops everything and goes to the beginning, now I lost my place and have to waste more time locating that spot again!!!!!

    WavePad

4.? Sorry, but when I dowloaded 4.24 it changed the original version num, and these guys don't put it on the setup !! Any ways, a recent [ this years version ap-2009 ] freezes up when I amplify the signal to work on a section to fade out the thing just freezes up...I can't tell you how many times it has triopped me up and messed up my work and how much of my time has been wasted by it's newfound quirkiness If I knew where v3.05 was, I'd go put that up, cuz this is just too annoying. What took me a few minutes to do without issues, I end up redoing it many times over and I find it quite obnoxious....
  19. I have a cpl, but to tell the truth, I'm not sure of their construction, I thought they were condenser types. http://www.minidisco.com/Microphones kw
  20. I never tried that using wavepad. What I did was get their free ripping software to rip it straight to mp3. Works like a charm. kw
  21. Oh WOW!!!! Well that just goes to show how darn near anything that can go wrong will go wrong when you least expect it. You may have better luck sending a letter.... Perhaps my comment will get a senior nhc person to look into this futher. Til then, I'd revisit the site and try to find an email link, and ask them to look into it or at least give you the correct email to address the issue. hope this helps http://www.nch.com.au/support/index.html kw
  22. There's not much to it, just R CLIK the section desired then clik on the fade out option on the left of your screen and that's it!!! kw
  23. WOW!!!! Another minidisc fan...... As you know, minidisc is a proprietary format, so the files can only be read by sony software. BUT, you can play the minidisc into mp3 recording software of your choice. you may wish to use some different interfaces out there made for this. http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Transit/ http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/UA1EX/ [ I prefer the M_Audio Transit unit ] Audio software is so vast, you're gonna have to do that one on your own. Here's some freeware; http://download.cnet.com/windows/mp3-audio...p;tag=ltcol;nav If you're planning on recording in WAV, I hope you have a large HDD. I hope that helps kw

    WavePad

As small as the files are, and as many times as I've heard this same complaint, I'm thinking a download section would be quite pleasing to customers and would not cost a lot to maintain. But maybe I'm wrong on that, as I've never done it. I myself am not sure where my original wavepad file is and would appreciate an old download section as a back up. Maybe a member supported area in each section that gets enuf traffic on it, could have a link to earlier files[ no keys tho ] so that folks who were registered could get access ..... just a thought. kw
  25. I don't know what the industry standard is, if any, but for me, I found that I had to magnify the file using the + key to see where I was at, then right clik the area you need to work on. It'll highlight the area! For me, I mostly used it to break up a large file into smaller segments, then marking them correctly so I don't mess up the order. [ the smaller segements can then be more easily searched out because there are now 6 sections instead of just one in an hour long file ] I'm not sure that answered your question, but I hope it helped. kw
