  1. Good day I have been using Express Scribe free software and Pedable with my foot pedal Phillips 2330/00 and it was working fine. Yesterday I bought the Quarterly subscription for Express Scribe Pro and now my foot pedal does not work at all. In Express Scribe when I use the Controller Wizard setup, the buttons are recognized when I press the button by a YES next to the corresponding button, but the buttons does not work when transcribing.
  2. I am a transcriptionist, and I need all the help I can get, hearing the audio files I receive. The best audio editor anywhere is this Wave Pad. Please, please tech folks, put the foot pedal ability in the Wave Pad. Others, also, using Wave Pad, may actually need to click between windows for any number of reasons. No foot pedal ability is slowing us all down. Thank you!
  3. Hey all, I'm pretty desperate for any advice someone might have for me...I'm freaking out! Today I updated ExpressScribe on my computer because it was performing poorly. I've been using the free version for the past 2 years with only minor issues, such as occasional freezing and lag. Today, the program for some reason was having severe issues with playback so I thought it probably just needed an update. Not so! It only made things worse. I discovered that Express Scribe no longer seemed to recognize my foot pedal (Infinity IN-USB-2) at all! Even though it had been working for the most part up until this point, Express Scribe no longer seemed to see it as a valid foot pedal--or even a foot pedal at all. The screen indicated that there was no device recognized at all. My next course of action was to buy the professional service, since a family friend had similar issues when her "free trial" ran out. I figured it was a gimmick to force people to buy the program but I felt like I had no choice, since there's no comparable transcription software out there that's actually free of charge. I purchased the professional software for $40.00 (not the standard but the advanced license). Unfortunately it appears that the pedal is STILL not recognized at all by ExpressScribe! When I open the application and go to Preferences>Controller setup wizard, it claims that there is no plug and play foot pedal connected at all, when that is clearly not the case. Even with the updated, professional purchased version! When I click on "plug and play controller diagnostics", I get the following message: Plug and play controller diagnostics for Express Scribe Transcription (Registered) v 6.04 (Mac OS X 10.10.5): No devices found --- End --- I am very frustrated because the program worked just fine with the free version just yesterday, and today it was acting up and freezing so I purchased it thinking that would resolve the minor issues, and it escalated into a severe issue where it is literally not even possible for me to use the program with this pedal anymore. This seems suspicious because this particular pedal is listed as a compatible pedal for the professional software. I plugged my pedal into a family friend's computer (she is also a transcriptionist and also uses ExpressScribe, but she has an older version of the program, 5 point something, with the basic licensure whereas I have 6.4 with the professional license), and the pedal worked on her computer. It is clearly a software issue and not a pedal issue. I have time-sensitive work that needs to be completed and I will be forced to use another transcription program if this problem is not resolved. I paid good money to have a program that actually works! I may also ask for a refund if I don't see this problem resolved soon, as it is currently a complete waste of money for me seeing as the program is blatantly not working at all for me. I thought maybe it might have something to do with my iOS as I just recently updated it on my laptop but that was in the beginning of the month. Like I said, this program was working pretty well up until today. I have no idea what to do at this point! I've even resorted to looking into other transcription programs, but seeing as I've paid for this one, if I can get it to work, it would obviously be ideal. Any (fast) advice would be appreciated.
  4. As a setup for working for home I now have a VPN link to the office and am trying to use Express Scribe with a foot pedal through the RDP session. The foot pedal is not being recognised despite me ticking to extend plug-and-play devices through the RDP session. Is this a supported use? Do I need to do something else to get this to work? Has anybody got this to work? Thanks.
  5. Whenever I depress the middle (play) pedal or the right (fast forward) pedal while in Word, the print dialog box opens. The left pedal opens my file system dialog box. I can't type a document. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks!!!
  6. Hi. I was thinking of buying a foot pedal, because having to constantly move my hands away from the keys as I transcribe, in every sentence, is annoying and makes me slow. But I have questions. First, do you think this cheap gaming pedal would work on Express Scribe? https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B00O055QB4 Second, I see foot pedals have 3 pedals, but what I need is to be able to do (at least) 4 different things: pause, play, rewind, forward. (Also play slow, play slower, and play normal, but I think I could do this with a combinations if keys with, for exemple, ctrl or alt). So how do you pedal-transcriber-experts do this? I thought it'd be as easy as setting only one key for both pause and play, but Express Scribe options say it's not possible to use the same key for two different things! So how to do this? Does Express Scribe actually allow you to do this only if you use a foot pedal?
  7. Hello, I recently downloaded the software onto a windows 10 machine. I cannot get the foot pedal to rewind when it's released. It stays exactly where I leave off. I need it to rewind about 5 seconds. I've changed the options, but it only rewinds if I manually press down the bar. When I release my foot it always went back a little. Please help I have 30 hours to do and I don't know what's going on. D
  8. Hi, I'm brand new to Express Scribe. I have a brand new foot pedal, an Infinity, which is all working together as it should - play, rewind etc. my problem is that while I am typing, I cannot listen to audio at the same time. Touching the foot pedal while typing causes some random things to happen eg. Making things bold or underlining etc. what am I doing wrong? As you can imagine, this is slowing me down - big time! Help
  9. I have a new copy of Express Scribe that I purchased in a pack with the foot pedal on Amazon. I am using it for the second time today, and having problem after problem, just like I did the first time I used it. I love that I can't call the company to ask them about it though because I didn't pay for platinum support, so I had to send an email and wait for a response... great service. My problems consist of a couple of things that are related to the foot pedal. I know that the problem is not the foot pedal, however, because I use it with Courtsmart and it works fine; I have never had any issues with it. However, when using it with Express Scribe, I encounter problems pretty frequently, and needless to say, it is extremely frustrating. Problem 1: Sometimes when I press the foot pedal, Express Scribe will start rewinding and won't stop no matter what button I press on the foot pedal or on the program. Problem 2: Express Scribe freezes up for about 10 seconds at a time if I click on the program while listening to audio, and the audio will just stop. Problem 3: Sometimes I will be listening to audio, and when I lift off the foot pedal, the audio won't stop. This is usually a result of the program freezing up as well. Does anybody else have these problems as well? Does anybody have any suggestions? I am running Pro v 5.69 on Windows 8.
  10. I have tried two different Infinity IN-USB-2 pedals, both of which do not work well with my foot, which was honed on Dictaphone and Sony equipment. The problem: I stop listening for a few seconds by lifting my foot from the pedal, and then push the middle of the pedal to restart the recording - except it won't start. I move my foot to change the position of my toe on the pad - and nothing happens, even with repeated attempts and various foot positions. Sometimes I can hit the reverse or forward and things will resume, and other times the playback just won't resume regardless of what I do. I have tried holding it in my hand, upside down, right side up, whatever, and it won't restart. I contacted my seller, AAA Dictation, and now have a second pedal. I am having the same problem with it, and am concerned it is a quality issue. I really like the software and want to continue using this program - but not if the pedals are all like this. Any suggestions for continuing with this product or is there something out there that will work for me? I am running ExpressScribePro on a Mac os 10.9.1, if this matters.
  11. Hello all - I am new to Express Scribe and just downloaded the full program. I am used to being able to have the dictation back up a nanosecond (or as long as you want to program it) when lifting my foot off of play on my pedal. I only see one area under Options> Playback> where there is something called "auto backstep on stop (ms)" which is set for 0. I've tried changing this setting (and then clicking OK), but it doesn't seem to do anything to the audio playback. I've been working for 25 years with an auto backup so won't know what to do if I can't make this happen. HELP!!!!!!!!! Thanks much.
  12. Win 7 64 bit, Pro purchased and installed, licensed and registered appropriately. But the USB-2 Infinity foot pedal only showed up for a few seconds, both in the Test window and in Play Functions, but just for a few seconds, then stopped forever. I deleted the Pro ES, reinstalled, same thing. Whenever I restarted the computer, the Infinity pedal worked for a few seconds and stoped, again and again. Must be software problems. Please help. Thank you.
