italiangen
Hi Borate. I wonder if you could give me some guidance on the step to attempt to clean up this background distortion issue. I'm using VP's ver 8.77 audio filters. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UmPAJ4516wcVwKHETCwYWs4MTI9aTcFw/view?usp=sharing Thanks for your support. borate
Not hearing distortion, but background noise can be lowered and voice peaked with the EQUALIZER effect, along these lines... Or try HIGH PASS, inputting the number 500 in the box.
italiangen
Thanks Borate. Does NCH have a learning video on how to identify the types of audio issues and how to correct them? Peter
borate
Do a Net search for Videopad audio effects
italiangen
Thanks Borate. This link from NPR is what I was looking for. For many of the issues identified, I need to learn how to use VP to correct or reduce their impact. https://training.npr.org/2017/01/31/the-ear-training-guide-for-audio-producers/ Peter
borate
Good link. Absolutely. The better the source recording, the better the result - with a minimum of post production. Wavepad is worth checking out.
italiangen
Not to belabor this issue... When some of these audio errors occur, now I know a bit more what they are. Now I need to learn what effects to use in VP to correct or reduce their impact. What I mean is that I don't want to "play" with a few different effects before I get an improved result. Having said that, maybe Wavepad tutorials will teach me exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks again. Peter
borate
There's no pat answer to that. Once 'playing' has produced good results for a specific fault, then the same settings can be applied in the future. Wavepad does have wizards that may help, but manual adjustment may still be necessary to achieve optimum results. The first consideration is to mic correctly.
