Dallan
I was having similar issues where VP would always crash when closing, though it would still save. Admittedly, this was when I had some very large video files being used for the project and my computer's resources were being pushed to their maximum. I would try re-installing your VP and see if this helps. It helped me.
borate
More information needed. What version of VP is being used? How long is the project? What is the resolution of the bulk of the source files? Let's take a look at the project, to see if others can replicate the issue. It's easy, quick, and can be private. Just follow these four steps... With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Locate the saved, numbered folder, NOT the exported or VPJ file. Upload it to a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* Get a shared, public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. Change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Then click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum and privately message it to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
Nationalsolo
Hi Whatever is causing the crash VP should have done an autosave if ithe program crashed even if your ordinary Save Project failed.. Check out....... User name/AppData/Roaming/NCH Software/VideoPad.......The folder should have an autosaved vpj file but only if the PC or program crashed.. Dallan
Yes, I was getting an autosave file created. I have reverted to 8.45, which works fine, but the crashes were having on 8.91.
