elratto Posted October 6, 2018 Posted October 6, 2018 Hello. The program does not work as it should. I created a voice, checked it and called a friend in Discord. The voice sounded only about a minute and after became my usual one. How to remove the restriction on inaction in version 3.01 or synchronize the program with the Discord? Thank you in advance. P.S. My English sucks because I am from Russia and I don’t know your language.
Guest Jsalgado Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 Check this: Make sure that you have selected an effect from the list on the left. Check that Voxal is receiving your microphone's signal. If it is not receiving the signal, please follow the Microphone Configuration Directions. The status should read: Successfully processing! The audio meter will be moving as you speak, it should be in the Good Mic Level section Voxal must be opened prior to the program that you are using the effect in. Close both programs, open Voxal, then open the program where you would like to apply the voice effect.
Displayed Nme Posted March 7, 2019 Posted March 7, 2019 I have the same or a similar issue and the above is not helpful unfortunately. Firstly the microphone configuration directions make no sense, if you select the option to 'listen to this device' and then click ok Windows will continually playback everything the mic picks up and will continue to do that until you go back into the menu and uncheck the box. This absolutely terrible to do because if its loud enough the mic will pick up the playback and go into an infinite feedback loop. There is also no 'status' as the directions indicate anywhere on the Voxal interface that i can find, unless by status it means the log text on the bottom of the screen, if it does mean in the log, why does it not say this in the directions? Similarly nothing in the log I have seen has ever read as 'successfully processing' anything; however the log will indicate that 'voxal is successfully applying the "selected" voice effect to the audio stream', again, if that is what the directions mean, they should say that specifically. Secondly, the original poster said they already had selected a voice and were able to use it, at least temporarily, which seems to imply no problem with the microphone set up itself. Especially as discord continued to pick up and use input from the microphone even after voxal suddenly stopped applying the voice effect. In my experience the voxal log will read that it has successfully applied the chosen effect but then about a minute later(usually 55 seconds exactly) it says that 'the microphone is no longer being used by any application' and will stop applying it, even when my other applications are continuing to record without a problem and even when I am in the middle of speaking (I've even watched the green bar moving up and down continually right up until the minute mark and the application fails). Turning the preview mode on and off will sometimes cause voxal to detect the microphone again and apply the effect, as can reselecting the input in some of the other applications, but every single time voxal will simply stop applying the effect and pretend the microphone is not in use again a minute later.
Fred28 Posted March 7, 2019 Posted March 7, 2019 Hello, There is no other options to change this, to me it seems as if the program is corrupted. I suggest you try to reinstall the program and if that does not work the best you can do is contact NCH Software Technical support and see if they have any other ideas. You guys can create a support ticket for them from the link below:https://www.nch.com.au/support/index.html Good Luck!
N_C_H_yusuf Posted March 14, 2019 Posted March 14, 2019 Hi, You are definitely right on this point: On 3/7/2019 at 1:46 PM, Displayed Nme said: Secondly, the original poster said they already had selected a voice and were able to use it, at least temporarily, which seems to imply no problem with the microphone set up itself If you could give me more information , I will try my best to understand and fix the issue for you. For example when Voxal stops applying the chosen effect, does it only occur while using it with Discord or it also happens in preview mode ? Does the problem occurs only on specific effects or for all the effects? Is there any other application that might be interfering with Voxal in any way?
