chas2003
When I add an audio track to a sequence I want it to be the audio for the video I have. Instead a a totally grey section of video is inserted with the audio. I have a clip in a sequence and I drag the audio to the audio track like I shows in the tutorial here. borate
ADD FILE was used to add a file to the media bin, where it appears under the "audio" tab. Then that file was dragged onto the audio track, just below the video. Another way to accomplish this is to right click on the audio file and "place clip on sequence." chas2003
Thanks Einstein, yes exactly that. Both methods do exactly the same thing : move the existing video in the sequence and put grey video with the audio when the existing video was. borate
Unable to duplicate your results here. When you drop the audio file onto the audio track, does the existing video move ... or does it completely vanish? Click on OPTIONS|DISC tab and Clear Unused Cache Files, to rule out corruption there. Thereafter, it may initially take a bit longer to load your project.
chas2003
It turns out it works if I drag it BELOW the audio track to where it says "Drag and drop your audio clips here to mix".
Nationalsolo
Hi Yes...It looks like you simply added the audio file to the existing audio track...i.e. Audio Track1. If your video clip on Video Track 1 has audio associated with it on Audio Track 1, then adding another audio file at some mid point by dragging and dropping, or adding it to the cursor position if this is at some mid point, will cause VP will split the video clip and insert your new audio into split on Audio Track 1, thus creating a gap in the video. You need to drag and drop it onto Audio Track 2. This is situated immediately BELOW Audio Track 1. Nat
