Mary Beth
Hi guys! Everything was working fine and dandy until today, when the same exact issue started happening with MY videos (a flat line on the audio when video clips are moved to the timeline - you can't hear the audio when you play them back BEFORE moving to the timeline, either). I have the latest version (8.95), and on the latest project, sound was fine with the intro template I created (audio was a different file), but the video clips had no sound. Just for kicks and grins I opened a previous project that I created in October (which was fine back then), and sure enough, some of the video clips had flat line audio while others were fine! I did everything that was recommended in the thread (although my computer doesn't have a folder called App Data under my user), at least the things I felt I could understand, and still have the problem. These are video clips that are even smaller than the HD clips I was using for the other videos I was having issues with, so I would think it wouldn't be a memory issue! I've copied the files from this new video I'm working on into a Google Drive folder like I did with the file having the "blank audio tracks" issue so you can see what I'm talking about (and the clip I inserted IS going to be edited - it's awful as is 🙂😞 https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1XoasTuj110ooKRXMSgv-7WsT7rUq5Cht?usp=sharing Thanks for your help, MB
borate
Bug. Install this version. Ignore any virus prompts. Please leave your project link on the server for a week or so, if possible. Thanks. If a release is working well, it's wise to stick with it for a time There's no mandate to upgrade. You can always test drive newer releases to see if useful features appear. And revert if problems surface. Just save the installer and registration info. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Mary Beth
Yay!!! That did it! Thanks so much!!! Have a great weekend! MB. I'll bet dollars to donuts that'll fix that "blanking out" issue on the audio tracks, as well! 😉
OliverHewett
I have the latest version of VideoPad because it made me upgrade about a week ago. I have a file that plays fine outside videopad but once moved in videopad it gives a couple of seconds of audio and then flat lines. Any ideas? borate
Let's have a look at that file. Please upload it to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shareable (public) link, copy the link and post it here or in private to me via the mail envelope at the top-right of this forum. We'll check it out and come up with a fix.
Carroll H
I had a version 8.34 on a desktop, which obviously worked well; decided to install another on my new laptop (ver 8.95). The new version would not load the audio portion of .mov files, although it worked fine on .mp4 files. I did the regress to ver 8.91 as suggested in one of the latest tips and everything is fine now. So there was an apparent issue in the 8.95 version that 8.91 solved. Thanks for the successful remedy.
borate
The 8.x series is dated, but if it's doing the job stick with it. You can always test drive the latest, unlicensed. There should be no issue with .mov audio. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. NAEEM NAEEM
If your audio does not working. Then right click on the video file in the video file window then select audio stream and change it, like stream 2,stream 3... . Hopefully, it will work. borate
You have tacked on to a very old thread. Loss of audio can be due to a number of factors. If you have a specific file or project that has no audio (or video) please start a new thread and post a link to your content. Someone will check it out. LadyRegret
I know this is an old thread but when I searched for this problem when I was having it this was the only result that fit so i figured I should post my solution for the next person to see. If you put in a video clip and it shows no audio, but you know the clip has audio, open the clip in WavePad instead. It will load as just the audio and you can save it as an audio clip. Then go back to VideoPad, unlink the nonexistent audio from the video, delete the broken audio layer, and open the audio clip you saved. Put it in the video under the desired clip. Problem solved. borate
Please share the file that had no audio in Videopad, and state the version of the program in use. (Look at the bottom-left of the window.) Here's how... Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, right-click the link and Share. Copy the result and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view.
