lupusbalo
On one project, I add HDV clips (1440x1080, PAR=1.3333) I have the following issues: - all the clips are seen as 4:3 in clip preview with a PAR=1 (with tranparency on right and left sides) - in project preview, top and bottom of the image have black strips!! [Edit : make above sentence "understandable"] any clue? Lupusbalo
borate
I have the following issues: - all the clips are seen as 4:3 in clip preview with a PAR=1 (with tranparency on right and left sides) - in project preview, top and bottom of the image have black strips!! If possible, put one of those clips on a server and link it here, so folks can check it out.
c_major
Preview aspect ratio can be changed at: Options->Preview Resolution. You can either choose from a preset or type in width and height in pixels. Best regards.
lupusbalo
@Einstein : see links below @c_major : preview aspect ratio atready set to 16:9 (see screenshot below) included are links original clip https://www.dropbox....4 USA.m2ts?dl=0shot with a sony 780 cam a screen copy of the project window https://www.dropbox....SCREEN.jpg?dl=0 a screen copy of the project preview https://www.dropbox....SCREEN.jpg?dl=0 Thx for help Lupusbalo As you may have guessed, this topic also relates to the other one "Apply effects to several clips" because of the issue discussed here, I'll have to apply the resize(4:3 -> 19:9) effect to all clips in the timeline and I'll "only" have 2935(*) initial rushes for this film!!! !! (*) not excluding some where i shot my shoes
c_major
Hi Lupusbalo, Just confirmed VideoPad currently doesn't handle PAR comes with the video. I've filed a proposal to our team including: Handle PAR from the metadata, stretch the video accordingly. Allow change aspect ratio of the clip without adding an effect. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
greyham
I have the same issue all the time with 16:9 images from my digital video camera previewing as 4:3, and appearing letterboxed in the preview window. Fortunately they render in 16:9 when exporting, but it sure is annoying that the preview isn't accurate. Any chance of a fix soon? Thanks, Graham
c_major
It is on our todo list. However it is not included in the upcoming release. I've risen the priority for this item since requested. Best regards.
DIHALT
A similar problem. Adding a video file with HD resolution and aspect ratio of 16: 9, but it is in the preview is cropped to 4: 3. I had to go back to the version Videpad 3.02 there is no such problem. Sample file for debug from my cam (sony nex): https://www.dropbox.com/s/oo45e80gnggxukm/MAH03857.MP4?dl=0 3.5mb
c_major
The video seems has been letter box fitted instead of stretched. Have you checked if the export resolution is in 16:9?
DIHALT
It appears only in the preview as 4: 3. If you do export, then everything will be as it should: 16: 9 Ie cropping exclusively in the preview window. And it's not even trim. Viewer Window simply undisplayable edge of the image, but in reality it is exported and normally at a ratio of 16: 9 This is the result of the export file that I inserted in the last report https://www.dropbox.com/s/hnoliiph92qtutg/test.avi?dl=0 1.6mb This problem does not occur on all files, 16: 9. Video shot on the iPhone 5s is displayed as 16: 9 and in the preview window and in exports. 100% OK. But video from the Sony NEX have a problem. 16:9 as fact. 4:3 in preview, and 16:9 after export
c_major
I've tried the file it works fine here. Perhaps your preview resolution is in 4:3. Please try Options->Display->Preview Resolution and select a 16:9 preset.
DIHALT
Nope. I use 16:9 ratio only. In preview 16:9 options too.
