Possible to remove Play/Pause/etc. buttons from large view?

I just purchased a netbook to use for work, which is primarily transcription, but those large play/pause/etc. buttons at the bottom of the Main View are making the window too large. I can't reduce it any more. The mini view is too small for me, since I need to see the length and title of each file I'm transcribing. Is there any way to get those control buttons not to be in the window so I can narrow it further?

You can hide the main tool-bar, the small tool-bar, or the notes using the items in the View menu. The playback control buttons can't be hidden.
