  1. I just purchased a netbook to use for work, which is primarily transcription, but those large play/pause/etc. buttons at the bottom of the Main View are making the window too large. I can't reduce it any more. The mini view is too small for me, since I need to see the length and title of each file I'm transcribing. Is there any way to get those control buttons not to be in the window so I can narrow it further? Thanks in advance. ~Laura
  2. Well, I guess sometimes writing out the problem can help focus the issue in one's mind. I Googled for other download sites of Express Scribe. Eventually I found one that was still linked to an older version. I uninstalled the new version and installed the old one. Voila, my files are working again! I hope NCH gets this solved. I liked what I was seeing on the new version - you know, except for that whole "can't play my files" thing.. ~Laura
  3. Hi all, I'm so distressed right now. I don't know what to do. I downloaded the latest version of ES when I was notified of the upgrade. I already had some WMA files loaded into the program when I did the upgrade so those remained in the system just fine. But as soon as I went to load more files for transcription they were coming up as empty. In Windows Media Player they play fine, and there is no protection. I also have the latest version of DirectX installed on my computer. This is my livlihood and I've been frozen for more than 2 days. I can't find any place to download the previous version of ES from. Can anyone help me? Please? ~Laura
