Freelancealot
Hi, I just un-installed Express Scribe from my eMac (PowerPC) using OSX 10.2.8 as it was playing up a bit, and I thought I'd just download it again and do a fresh install. I've also received my VEC USB pedal today so was already to get going. The problem is, when I download the latest Mac Scribe.zip (v. 4.26 PowerPC) file it comes up with '-error 95 no mountable disk found'. It gets past the licence acceptance bit, but then comes up with the error once I've pressed Accept. The same download zip file works fine on my MacBook Pro (Intel) using Leopard and is playing files. Now I'm in the predicament of having no version of ExpressScribe on my eMac, but I do now have the USB pedal! I also have a 1-hour mp3 file to transcribe for a client by tomorrow Please help....! Laptop is shared and not available tonight/tomorrow. Is there anyway someone from NCH could send me the program as a Stuffed file, rather than a zipped file? Or is there any other way I can get it to work. I've even tried copying the application from the Laptop to the eMac, but this didn't work at all! Thanks in advance for any help. Cheers, Tracy
edj
Hi, if you like I will email you an unzipped copy of express scribe. I think it's 4.05. Should work. Ed

It sounds like the zip file was downloaded OK, but that you're having trouble opening the DMG file that's inside. A quick Google suggests this error is probably due to an OS X problem rather than any particular DMG file. Are you able to open DMG files from other companies / products OK, or do they all have this problem?
Freelancealot
It sounds like the zip file was downloaded OK, but that you're having trouble opening the DMG file that's inside. Are you able to open DMG files from other companies / products OK, or do they all have this problem? Hi, No, it's not all DMG files. I've looked into the error fixes that are about: the 'unknown user' exists, so this is not the problem; I've checked my permissions and fixed them; I've also tried to download via Safari, as this worked for one Mac User, but not for me; the other suggestion was that it's an error when people are packaging the dmg files, ie they should stuff it rather than zip. There doesn't seem to be a fix for intermittent error 95 problems, so what I would really like is for someone at NCH to send me the Express Scribe program in another format other than a zipped file to see if that will work. I'm desperate to get Express Scribe on the eMac ASAP so if anyone's about at NCH, I'm around for quite few hours this evening if there's any help you can give, or you can send the file another format (fine via email).
