  1. You can confirm that VideoPad is using the GPU to do effects by going to Tools->Options->Editing and confirming that the new checkbox "Use hardware-accelerated video effects" is ticked.
  2. If you have multiple sequences, you might not have the correct sequence selected to view the tracks you want to edit. To switch between sequences, you can use the tabs beneath the clip bin (above the "Timeline" and "Storyboard" buttons) on the far left of the window.
  3. To clarify: are the transitions having a minimum length of 0.002 seconds, or is 0.002 seconds the maximum it will let expand the transition to? If it's the maximum, you probably have a very tiny 0.001 second clip between the two clips. You can either zoom all the way in at the bit between the two clips to find it, or (if it's on Video Track 1), change to storyboard view to find it. Deleting that tiny clip should fix the problem, and transitions can expand up to the entire duration of the clips on either side of it (the length of the smaller clip, anyway).
  4. Just to clarify to people browsing, this was a release for both Mac and Windows versions of VideoPad.
  5. Right, My bad. I didn't check properly, and just assumed that the text clip's scrolling was using a full screen displacement. Disregard me; I, clearly, aren't thinking straight
  6. Other people might be able to understand better, but would it be possible for you to show a screenshot of what the sequence timeline look like? To post a screenshot here, you'd need to upload it somewhere else, then in the "reply to this topic" editor press the "Image" button (2nd row, 11th from the left) and put a link to the image there.
  7. This is true. However (assuming the text in the clip is centered vertically), it can get a bit extra by not having the start and end positions be the whole frame (from -1.0 to 1.0), just going from a position of -0.6 to 0.6 should work for a single line of text, for example. The end result would be scrolling text that appears slower.
  8. Hi Allen, Text clip scrolling speed isn't technically changeable, it will only scroll from edge to edge over the duration of the text clip. If you want it to scroll slower, you'll need to make the text clip longer. Alternatively, you can Set to "No Scrolling" Open "Video Effects" for the text clip Click the green '+' button in the top left and add a "Position" effect Select one of the presets for position (Slide Down, Slide Up, etc.) If you need more control over the movement, you can click the button in the top right of that window (the one with the right arrow that's not an 'X') to open up the keyframe editor. You can then add keyframes, move the clip, and whatever else you want there.
  9. Hi Allen, You can either use "Ctrl+Shift+B" to set a bookmark at the current cursor position (in the sequence timeline), or You can also right-click in the area above the clips on the timeline, but below the part that displays the time on the timeline (The area that says "Drag and drop your video, text and image clips here to overlay") That will open a dialog allowing you to set the bookmark's name and bookmark color.
  10. I'm just confirming that this is the case, when choosing to export to DVD Movie (either directly to disc or as an .ISO) you can achieve this by selecting PAL Widescreen format.
  11. Hi bLOCKbOYgAMES, In the first screenshot, I notice you're in the sequence preview. The clip and sequence previews cache things with a lossy compression, so that's probably what's causing the artifacts. That, however, doesn't affect the exported files (VideoPad doesn't use the cache system for exports). A quick way you can check if the artifacts are a problem before export is to open up the preview dialog (Ctrl+U), as that dialog doesn't use the cache either (if you have many effects, playback probably won't work smoothly on this dialog), then seek to the 1:13.373 position in your top screenshot. Do you mind telling us what export formats/encoding settings you've tried so far? P.S. Aw yeah Dishonored 2
  12. Are you sure your username after the install is "my"? It needs to be in exactly "C:\Users\my\Desktop\", not just "the desktop of whoever is currently logged in". If the folder "C:\Users\my\Desktop\images lets play\" is there after the reinstall, with all the files in it, the only missing files are: C:\Users\my\Desktop\images.jpg C:\Users\my\Desktop\13178036_1701061460142806_5171050053767732734_n.jpg C:\Users\my\Desktop\inspi\1920566_10152618473741959_1371066380_na.jpg C:\Users\my\Downloads\WINDOWS XP ERROR SOUND.wmv.mp3 This shouldn't be enough to trigger the bug, which indicates that either you didn't put the folder back exactly in "C:\Users\my\Desktop\" or there's something else going on. There is some weird stuff I can see in the .vpj, such as 13178036_1701061460142806_5171050053767732734_n.jpg being included twice with the exact same parameters, but it doesn't cause any problems for me (testing with the latest version of VideoPad). You can upgrade an existing key to a newer version of VideoPad at http://www.nch.com.a...ftware=videopad (this will still cost money, but it is less than a new purchase) I've sent you a PM with a list of all the files that the project expects (without any of the extra stuff from the .vpj) if you don't want to upgrade (which is still probably a good idea). [EDIT: Now I've sent you the PM, I closed the tab before hitting send before ] Regards, Allen
  13. Hi there, Unfortunately this was a bug with the "resolve missing files dialog" until release 4.40, where if you had too many missing files it would break. In this case, you have ~630 missing files, which is considerably too many. Your options are: 1) Upgrade to a newer version of VideoPad (recommended) or 2) Make sure that the files are where it expects them to be. In this case, the majority seem to be expected at "C:\Users\my\Desktop\images lets play\video graphics\" Sorry I can't be of more help!
  14. It was added to the 4.45 release, under the name "Pan & Zoom". If you don't want to upgrade to v4.45, it can be also be achieved by animating the zoom effect.
  15. As a follow up to this, you can remove the subtitle number, timestamp and all formatting tags with the following regex string: Find: (^\d+\r\n|^\d\d:\d\d:\d\d,\d\d\d --> \d\d:\d\d:\d\d,\d\d\d\r\n|<[^>]+>) Replace With: (i.e. nothing) This will leave you with just the text of the subtitles.
  16. Alternatively, if you right-click the file in the clip bin (that window to the left of the preview), you should see "Rotate Clip" as an option, which rotates it as it imports into VideoPad, with no loss of quality. This can be used to import a (480x720) video as though it was rotated to (720x480). You would then simply need to export the video at 720x480.
  17. There's a few steps involved in doing this: Place the image on a track above the video you want to overlay (See http://help.nchsoftware.com/help/en/videopad/win/editing_addingclips.html if you're unsure how to do so) Making sure that the image clip on the timeline is selected, go to the Clip Preview If you have View->Show Dual Previews unticked (the default) click on the Clip Preview tab to select it. [*]Select the "View" dropdown button and choose "Clip + Background" You should now be able to see the clip and the clip it's overlaying onto, while editing the effects at the same time. If you have any further problems don't hesitate to reply.
  18. Hi tre4b, Have you tried running VideoPad as an Administrator?
  19. Hi snowxl, I've sent you a PM. Can you please have a look at it and get back to us?
  20. Hi snowxl, This is a known bug with the current release of VideoPad, and has two parts: The "There was an error loading one or more of the effect or transition icons" message is because of a bug on our end (Avoid applying the Pan & Zoom effect from the Video Effects menu) The ("My video pad is missing a lot of icons") is because your computer doesn't support Direct3D 9. To solve this, you need to upgrade to a newer computer (anything built in the last 10 years should be fine). Out of personal interest, would you be willing to say what display adapter you have? You can find out by going to the start menu -> search box (or run on older version of windows) -> search for dxdiag. Run DxDiag, go to the Display tab (Any display tab should be fine if there's more than 1) and tell us the Name and Chip Type.
