IkeB247
When I create a video, I'm usually copying from different places on my drive, then I want to consolidate them into different folders after they've been copied into the project. When I'm working on a project and I relocate a file to say a 'done' folder, then the project can't find the file again. If weeks later I want to update a project but all the files I've used have been moved to a different folder, I have to splice it all together again. Is there some kind of file repository for copies of clips used so I don't have to reconcile them manually?
borate
Easily done. Click the 3-lined Menu (top-left), then FILE | BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. All source files, + the VPJ control file that tells the program what to do with them will be backed up into a numbered folder that can be renamed. That folder can be used to run the project on any PC that has VP installed; just double-click the VPJ file.
