Ray Lusk
Just wondering if it is possible to encircle a dot or orb in a video and follow it to its end. I am a paranormal investigator and would like to be able to allow someone to see it easily. Thanks for the help
borate
Can be done manually, if a bit tedious. Grab a transparent circle image from the WEB. In this example, a black circle was made white by adding the Negative effect. Overlay the image on a higher track than the background. Use the Motion effect to scale it, then manually animate the motion, adding as few keyframes as necessary. http://help.nchsoftware.com/help/en/videopad/win/effects_animating.html If you make a mistake immediately press <ctrl-Z> to backtrack, step-by-step. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. Nationalsolo
Hi If you can't find a suitable circle try using a simple text capital O. A good circle is produced using the Bonnie font if you have it. Pick a suitable colour and font size. This can be further enlarged using Scale. Animate it using Motion or Position as Borate suggests. If you want a more complicated shape around your target and you have a draw program then make your own. You may in this case export it as a png with a transparent background, if not then use a green or blue or red background and set it up in VP with the green screen effect to make it transparent.. borate
Yet another approach is to use masking and transparency. Place duplicate video on tracks 1 and 2. Add 25-50% TRANSPARENCY effect to track 1. Add an effect mask (2nd icon from left on toolbar) to track 2. Choose the Circular preset and set the Radius (size). Add the TRANSPARENCY effect, set Opacity to zero and Feathering for most pleasing presentation. Uncheck the Mask inside box. Now plot the animation, setting the minimum amount of keyframes as needed. motion_track_mask.mp4
