Video file is not playing on sequence bar

Hi, this problem just started today and first thing I tried is to reboot Video Pad and restart my project from scratch, re-adding all video files. But to no avail. The problem is, my bumper  (intro/outro video) for my YouTube comedic video rants is not playing on the sequence bar. When I press play the music plays, but the video is black. The bumper video plays fine on my desktop or in its folder. Problem only exists in Video Pad. And its the same type of video file (MP4) as other files. I even imported a different bumper from a previous series and that works fine. One clue I've found is all my other videos in the Video Files window that play fine on sequence bar have a little blue videotape icon in the lower left-hand corner and a blue musical note in the right-hand side corner. The files whose videos are not playing (just black) do not have those icons no matter how many times I re-import them. Again, this problem just started today. Never had any problem with any video files I added to a project, especially not with these specific video files, which I use for every project. Please help. Thanks.

After saving the project, try these actions...

1.  Close VP and restart.  Click OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files.

2. If no help, close VP.  Locate these folders on the PC and delete all files in them.

        "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\Components"  or "C:\Program Files\NCH Software\Components"

         "C:\Users\<your PC name>\AppData\Roaming\NCH Software\Components"

3.  Still no joy?  Install the latest version.  For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date.  After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest.  Retain your old install file and registration info.

If these measures have not solved the issue, share your project and someone will check it out.  It's easy, quick and can be private.  Just follow these steps...

1.  With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left.  Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER.  Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER.
2.  Locate the saved, numbered folder and upload it to a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.*  (Don't upload the export or just the VPJ file.)
3.  Get a shared, public link. If using Google Drive click SHARE. Click the blue "Change to anyone with the link."  Then click on COPY LINK.
4.  Paste that link here, or click the folder, above top-right in this forum, and message it to me.  This is private and won't be shared.
*    Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES.  Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
