arjay8
I'm doing some very simple edits to a Zoom video. Just cuts, intro and outro titles -- nothing fancy. Before I did a test export, I noticed the preview video had lots of black blocks, pixellations and such, which were exported to the new, shorter mp4. I've tried a few things but can't seem to import a clean version of the original video. I'm hoping it's something embarrassingly simple that I just missed. Here's the folder: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/4cv2dkofeiguoir/AAC93A5WAi5k2n8b_yAOeQNKa?dl=0 I'm baffled. Please take a look at 38 minutes into the edited product which corresponds to about 47 minutes into the original vid. I forgot to add that I'm using Windows 10 on an HP Z400 with a Xenon W3565 CPU, 3.2ghz, w/ 8gb RAM (to be doubled as soon as my order arrives). Videopad ver 8.75. Thank you! borate
Thanks for sharing your project. Spotted no pixel or block problems either in preview or export here. Since this hints at a local PC issue, consider this... https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10265.html
arjay8
I am impressed. Thank you. I was afraid that it's a problem with my hardware and you've confirmed that. I'm upgrading my graphics drivers and I'll add RAM asap. Do you think that'll do it? I'll also be adding an SSD which I hope will help speed things up. I am overdue for a new computer but am hoping to hold out a bit longer. I can't thank you enough. Ron
borate
Your upgrades won't hurt and 8GB should be adequate. If things don't shape up, test VP on another machine if possible. Video editing is resource intensive, especially for complex projects for which gaming-class hardware is recommended.
arjay8
Should I be shopping for a new video card, or a new computer? Thanks again.
borate
No easy answers. If the box is handling the jobs you need, then a upgraded card might improve it. If it's more than four years or so old, then a higher-end PC could be worth the outlay. Depends upon your useage.
