Missing audio when opening saved projects

When I open a previously saved videopad project I often find that the audio has disappeared! so distressing...any help??

What version of Videopad is being used.  Here is the latest.  For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date.  After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest.  Retain your old install file and registration info.

If that does not solve the issue, share your work.  Someone will check it out.  This is easy, takes only minutes and can be private.  Don't upload the export, just the project...

1. With your project on the timeline, click the 3-lined 'hamburger' menu, top-left.  Click FILE | BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER.  Specify a folder.  Click SELECT FOLDER.
2.  Using the PC file manager, go to where the numbered folder was saved and upload it to a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.*
3.  Get a shared, public, non-restricted link.
4.  Paste that link here, or click the folder, above top-right in this forum, and message it to me.  This is private and won't be shared.
*    Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES.  Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.

Thanks I will try this when i have the problem next time - sadly I had a "temper tantrum" and deleted the last offending project. I'm just worried as i will be doing a project with 16 singers and really dont want it to happen yet again !  Previously one of my alto voices was replaced by a clarinet other times i just have no sound tracks at all...it is bizarre.

Indeed.  Save Project Files AS regularly, with a unique # or name so as not to overwrite prior saves.  Don't use Save Project (no AS) as that will overwrite.  Then you're protected and can return to the project by opening the VPJ file, which is usually stored in the same folder as the source files.

What version?  Update if possible.

Ok so today I am putting together a clarinet part with piano accomp but after saving then closing and returning I have no piano sound..... so I'm going to try to send it to you

What version of VP is being used?  Do send the project, per the instructions above.  Not the export.

Be sure to make it publicly accessible to anyone, especially if you use the Google Drive server.

It's all there, both in preview and export.

No singing, but piano on track 1 and clarinet on track 2.

If you find that only the clarinet shot is seen in the export, add the Letterbox To Aspect Ratio effect to the clarinet video track.  It's available in the Aspect Ratio Transforms area of the effects box.

Update to this version.  Be sure to Save Project Files AS first, so you don't lose anything.

Hi

My new problem today is that when exporting i get to 99.5% complete and then everything stops.......any clues?

v8.67.   I managed to export successfully to youtube  but not mp4 or avi.

When I'm "building " a sequence everytime i change something the light blue line goes across the screen as it gets processed but what is the grey line doing? it only seems to appear if i look at the video in full screen mode then the grey follows the light blue.

A blue line?  Please link a screenshot.  Upload it to a server, share the link and post that here.

The green and grey lines above the thumbnails indicate the state of sequence and preview caching.  When they complete, play should be smooth.
