smarch
I'm needing to covert a wav file to au. However Switch does not seem to have any ability to change the settings. Does anyone know how to assign settings such as 8-bit, mu-law, 8khz encoding ?
nchtj
those settings are wave format settings, so if you first convert from your wav file to another wav file using those settings, then you will able to convert to au using the new wav file. SBaldwin
I'm also trying to convert a WAV file to 8-bit, mu-law 8khz but only see a selection for CCITT u-law under Wav formats pull down menu. Am I missing something? I did start with an MP3 and converted to wav first. Would that make a difference in my selections? My interest is a final output of .au Report PostGo to the top of the page +Quote Post nchtj post Feb 23 2005, 02:49 AM Post #2 Advanced Member *** Group: Members Posts: 632 Joined: 9-December 04 Member No.: 5 those settings are wave format settings, so if you first convert from your wav file to another wav file using those settings, then you will able to convert to au using the new wav file. Webber
I'm trying to convert .wma and .mp3 files to .au files for use in a java applet for my web page. As recommended by nchtj earlier in this thread, I first convert these files to .wav files (8KHz, 8-bit, U-law) and then convert them to .au. The conversion, however, results in the PCM encoding format, rather than U-Law. These .au files are not played by the java applet. I would greatly appreciate some assistance with this issue. Thanks!
