I'm trying to convert .wma and .mp3 files to .au files for use in a java applet for my web page. As recommended by nchtj earlier in this thread, I first convert these files to .wav files (8KHz, 8-bit, U-law) and then convert them to .au. The conversion, however, results in the PCM encoding format, rather than U-Law. These .au files are not played by the java applet. I would greatly appreciate some assistance with this issue. Thanks!
