Joseph of Borg
I am debating which of the versions I should purchase I don't really see a situation where I'm going to need more than two audio tracks and I'm not sure if the plugins are primarily for audio could somebody give me some insight as to what the benefit of having plugins is? thank you very much
borate
Most folks likely won't utilize plugins. Here are three pages that will help you decide... http://help.nchsoftware.com/help/en/videopad/win/vpselectvst.html https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/free-plugins.html http://help.nchsoftware.com/help/en/videopad/win/effects_virtualdub.html Not every third-party plugin is guaranteed to work in Videopad. Download the latest version and try it out.
Nationalsolo
Hi "....I don't really see a situation where I'm going to need more than two audio tracks and I'm not sure if the plugins are primarily for audio..." Initially VP (all versions) show a single audio track. (Audio track 1) and a single Video Track (Video Track 1) Audio Track 1 contains (usually) the audio associated with Video Track 1. However, many Audio tracks and Video Tracks are available but they will only appear if you drag (or place) audio or Video specifically to them. This means you can use use just two audio tracks if that is all you want. More tracks won't appear unless you specifically want to use them. Plugins are third party components/effects that you can download and incorporate into VP. They can be designed to work specifically with either the selected video clip or the selected audio clip. There is no compunction to use or download them as VP has a pretty comprehensive selection of effects already programmed in. In fact one plugin from VirtualDub comes already installed .... Stabilize. One might contemplate using them where the provided effects are not sufficient or the effect looked for is unusual..like spot/scratch removal for copied cine film. There is no guarantee though, that third party plugins will always work correctly or even at all. Nat
