Dicko
Is there a way to delete parts of a video file that you don't use in a project. ? I have a file that lasts for 2 minutes but I only use 10 seconds of it. Now, to save time and space is it possible to delete the other 1min 50 seconds so that i'm left with a new file that lasts for 10 seconds ? Miggy
I don't believe so, as VIdeoPad uses "non-destructive editing". You can pull the needed 10 seconds down into a sequence and then export that to its own video. Then close the project (so VP is no longer tied to the 2 minute video) and then delete what you don't want directly from your hard drive.
borate
Import the file to the bin (top-left). Drag the scrubber (red-line cursor) under the preview window to where the clip is to start, then click the START button. Drag it to the end point, click the END button. Drag the clip to the timeline or right click on it and PLACE ON SEQUENCE AT START, AT CURSOR, or AT END. The original file will be preserved, but can be handled as Miggy notes above. Nationalsolo
Hi Also.... With the 2min clip on the timeline... Play the timeline (or drag the cursor) to the start point of your 10 seconds Split the clip and delete the first section. Close the gap. Play your 10 seconds of clip and stop the cursor at end of it. Split the timeline again and then delete the unwanted end section. You now have your 10 seconds left on the timeline. Nat
