Restore video clips from cache data?

I recorded a load of video, then my computer crashed. On reopening, the clips were missing from the project where they should have been saved. I have located the file for cache data. None of the boxes were checked in in options for emptying cache data, so everything should still be there. My question is: Is it possible to restore the video clips from this cache? If so, how do I proceed?

When you load the project, and it is missing some files, do you see a window like this?

 

 

Click on RESOLVE, locate the folder that contains the files, then click on the file/s.

 

It's a great idea to regularly click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO A FOLDER. Then, all your files and the project will be in one place.

No. I don't think the files got saved in the first place, even though I'm sure I saved the project. I'm trying to restore video clips that have been cached but evidently not saved.

Did you look in the CACHE?

"C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp"

Yes. The cache is full. I think my files are in there. How do I import them/make them into video files?

VideoPad will save all recorded video to your Videos library (C:\Users\user name\Videos) automatically.

 

They are named My Video - ????.mp4, where ???? is a four digit incremental number. e.g. My Video - 0001.mp4
