different sound levels

Is there anyway to raise and lower the sound of individual recorded files before they are mixed? I'm trying to get a soft voice onto somewhat louder music without it getting drowned. I've tried Effects -> Normalise but it doesn't seem to actually make any difference in the sound difference between the two.

Hi Genovae:

 

Have you tried AMPLIFY (not NORMALIZE) on the soft file before mixing it in? Some people have reported problems with AMPLIFY in v2.01, but it seems to work fine for me. You might give it a try.

that amplify function is the key to this program.

 

I hope it works for you,

because it sure doesn't for me.

the begining is an example of the amplify button

working so that I could mix the file;

then the second part of the file is where the

edit didn't work, because the amplify function doesn't.

this makes me not able to use your program at all.

 

it's absolutely useless after such a flawless

introduction. here I am ready to pay and the

damn program breaks.

 

that's totally the worst for a customer,

who really needs and wants the product.

 

(a little customer pre purchase advice -

I'd suggest you send me a fix, so that I can

use the program and then when it's working

pay you.)

 

I'd just like to have it working so

I can use it, as it should work.

So when can we expect a fix to happen????? I have been working on audio files for months with an expectation that I could finalize a CD with family history from my 83 year old father for Christmas!! Can I go back to the previous version to get that functionality back?? I REALLY hate to do that!
