ccrickm
I am using Express Scribe 5.06, with an Infinity IN-USB-2 pedal, and Windows Vista. For about the last week to 10 days, the foot pedal quits working when I have to get up and leave the computer for even very short periods of time (10 seconds or so). If I pause with the sound file, such as doing research but stay at the computer and am clicking around, I do not have a problem, the pedal will still work even though I was inactive with Express Scribe. It is when no input from keyboard, mouse, or pedal is occuring that this happens. It always starts working again when I unplug the pedal from the USB, wait for the recognition sound from the computer, and then replug and get the sound. Over the last 2 days, on occasion, after replugging, when I press the foot pedal it will play but will not stop when I release the pedal. I am able to control using the control panel. I have rebooted several times, uninstalled and reinstalled ExpressScribe twice. The program always retains the green light for Controller status: OK. even though it has quit responding. This is also a relatively new foot pedal, about 5 months old.
Damian Lettie
I am using Express Scribe 5.06 Have you tried v5.10? For about the last week to 10 days, the foot pedal quits working when I have to get up and leave the computer Did something change in your setup around that time? e.g. Did you install any new hardware, run Windows Update, install a new version of Scribe, etc.? for even very short periods of time (10 seconds or so). Is your computer configured to go into sleep or stand-by mode that quickly?
ccrickm
Have you tried v5.10? Installed it just now. Will see if that helps. Did something change in your setup around that time? e.g. Did you install any new hardware, run Windows Update, install a new version of Scribe, etc.? I do not think any upgrades were done. Is your computer configured to go into sleep or stand-by mode that quickly? Definitely no.

ccrickm
No, it is still happening. Did the upgrade to latest Express Scribe version. No difference. It does seem as though it gets worse the longer I use the computer without rebooting or putting to sleep. I use a keyboard shortcut program InstantText, and have wondered if it might have something to do with it. Do you use that program?
