New computer, Vista. Foot pedal reacting differently

I changed computers and downloaded Express Scribe to the new one. Now when I use the foot pedal, I have to press it twice to stop and twice to start. It is really affecting my productivity. I have tried to download older versions of Express Scribe to see if it is simply the newest version that does this, but all downloads end up downloading the newest version of Express Scribe. I have even tried a different foot pedal and it is not the problem. I am accustomed to holding down the foot pedal and taking my foot off of it when I want the dictation to stop!

Did you get a response to this? I upgraded my computer in January to Vista and ever since I've been having problems with it not recognizing my pedal. I would purchase a new one if I thought this was the problem, but I never had any trouble until I upgraded!! HELP!!
