  1. I just upgraded to 4.10. I've been working for many days building a video.. I did frequent "Save Project File As .." along the way (always to the same filename). Today, I made some edits I didn't like, so decided to open the saved project file to undo them, and got "The provided file might be damaged. Do you want to load it anyway?". I noticed there are a number of files in the folder where I save the project named "project-name_backup(n)". I don't know what created those files, but judging by the creation date/time of them, they were likely made when I did the "Save Project File As", or were automatic backups done by VP. I've tried opening several of those too, with the same results. I answer "yes" to the error msg to go ahead and load the save file. It fills in the media bins with the clips, and lists the 4 sequences I had, but the sequences are empty. At this point, I'm livid because it looks like I've lost many days of work. Any ideas?
  2. I've just purchased the 4.10 upgrade, and also notice the annoying staccato audio when trying to move the cursor a tiny amount on the clip preview, or on the sequence.
  3. I understand how to appply effects, but it looks to me like the "stabilize video" effect is only available as one of the options when I right click on a clip file in the media bin; it doesn't appear in the list of "video effects" with all the other effects. So it seems I have to stabilize an entire clip, which is why I want to be able to split a clip and save it as a new, shorter clip which I can then stabilize.
  4. I have some rather long clips from which I'll be using just small segments. I need to stabilize the parts I'll use, but would rather not have to first stabilize each entire, full length clip (takes a long time on my computer). Is there a way I can stabilize just the small segments (between in/out points) instead of having to stabilize an entire clip first? (Eg, if I could save a selected segment as a new clip, then I could stabilize that).
  5. Hi, Newcomer to video editing here. In the clip preview, after setting in and out points to select just a portion of a clip, is there a way to save that selected part to a new file (ie, a new file external to Video Pad, with, for example, the same filename extension as the original clip)? It seems to me I saw instructions on the web for an earlier version of the software that said there was a clickable button next to the in/out flags that would allow you to save the clip; I don't see anything like that in 4.10. Also, is there a way to split an existing sequence into two sequences? If so, can they be saved as clip files as above?
  6. When I click the VP "Help - Check for Updated Version", I get "Online version information for this software is not currently available". I have (purchased) version 3.85, and would like to update to the newest version. How do I do that?
